For being a girl. Apparently you need testicles in order to play Versus on L4D.
I find this genuinely weird, I always play with this Swedish girl on L4D, and her gamertag makes it obvious she's a girl, and as soon as we join a lobby, the rest of the room scrambles to get on her team.
Swedish girls are great.

Anyway, I was once kicked for liking Dragonforce.
BAN HIM BAN HIM!!

I've been kicked for winning many times, hell even banned. I'm no pro gamer or anything, but I've been kicked for winning by a land slide by having a ridiculous KDR. It totally ruins the buzz when you are kicking ass and then all of a sudden *you have been kicked/banned from the server*; well fuck you too.

In tf2, a guy said I had an aimbot on my sentry... in case you don't know, sentries aim automatically!

Because I called a vote to rebalanced the heavily stacked teams. The host who was on the dominating team immediately kicked me once the vote reached 70+ percent agreement. The loser couldn't take playing with fair teams, so kicking me stopped the poll before it could take effect.

For playing better than the host.
This. ^

I used to play Combat Arms quite a bit and host's love to kick anyone who kills them 'cuz they think you're modding/hacking.

And even when I didn't get kicked, I usually had at least one dude ***** the entire game that I was modding just because I killed them. It's hilarious.

Anyways, I was kicked when my teammates decided that since I didn't feel like using my mic because it was busted and made tons of static that I deserved a boot. I actually told them that was why I wasn't using my mic.

For joining the game...
Right there is the most idiotic retarded reason to kick anyone, and it's happened to me a time or two.
I feel your pain my friends. I've also been kicked for giving advice (in team games no less), helping newbies (sometimes newbies on said team), taking a break while sitting in the lobby to grab a drink (I announced my intentions clearly before leaving), and having a username someone didn't like. That last one may have been the worst since it was my PS3 name, B_A_Start. Who doesn't like references to the Konami code? WHO?

Odd, maybe I just managed to find a group of jerks then.
Well the L4D and L4D2 community is very fickle. I got kicked because I was the tank and I was beating the crap out of the other team, and the host or someone kept kicking people who were the tank and I guess it was my turn.
I find all of these very odd, mainly because I have NEVER been kicked for being a girl...quite the opposite, actually. Most guys are pretty cool with it...you just gotta watch out for the creepers. And all this L4D hate...I have to say that the online community for L4D has been pretty kind to me over the years, although no game has as awesome a community as TF2, IMO! I'm genuinely curious...do you guys play online via XBOX? If so, I guess this makes a lot more sense...I never got into Live because of how childish everyone is. I'm not trying to be a PC elitist, but ever since I switched to mainly Steam community games I've gotten SO much less harassment!

Well people on Xbox Live are kind of more... douche bags than other types of people.

Also this has gotten to be one very sad quote pyramid.

I was in a Battlefield match and the host kicked me because I didn't have any Modern Warfare 2 achievements. I've never played the game. Stupid.
