This is one of the most retarded things I've ever heard. The principle is a douche in my opinion. This is like the biggest anti-gun crap ever, it's just a toy, am I right. What do you think.
P.S. Look at comments on link, someone named superman said this is a good thing, because if you didn't correct the kid, he would have eventually brought a real gun. Ridiculous right?

I'm guessing that they think because he built a toy gun, he has deep psychological issues and could shoot up the school with a real gun.

Its fucking stupid I know.

But I got suspended for drawing pictures of people shooting each other while I was bored, so I can understand this.

People are just to paranoid.

I got an in-school suspension for bringing a miniature hockey stick to school. To play ball hockey with friends. In Canada.

This is horribly ridiculous. An average sized model - I can understand.

2 inches? You've got to be kidding...

You know the funny thing? There's actually a revolver that exists that's about that small. It's illegal in the U.S. for obvious reasons.

You can thank that knowledge on the one time I was forced to watch 'Manswers' a week or two ago. God, that's a horrible show...

"I'm never bringing a toy to school again," said Patrick, whose favorite subject is math.

Wow. Just fucking wow.

Interesting, but I can't say I'm really surprised about these kinds of stories anymore. It's stupid that the mom is thinking about suing for it.

the size or median of the gun doesn't change it from what it is, a gun. That being said the principal took it waaaaay to far. Confiscation of the toy would have been fine or mabey they could have even opened their eyes and noticed that a small toy is far less damaging to children then a fricen walk to school. Really in my elementary years i walked past tons of druggies , a rather bad car accidents, and was almost hit by a bus. I live in prarie Canada so this stuff is rather rare.

Well, it's shocking and bizzare, but I'm going to treat it with a resounding "meh"...The Principal will look foolish and get a slap on the wrist by who ever the local authority is and nothing about this will be heard of again.
[sub]Terrible article by the way...[/sub]

Kid: *2-inch plastic Lego gun*

BANG
Teacher: Hey, kid.
Kid: Ma'am?
Teacher: What did you just do?
Kid: I put a 2-inch plastic Lego gun in my plastic Lego police officer's hand and shot my friend's plastic Lego man.
Teacher: Do you know what could have happened?
Kid: No.
Teacher: Someone could have been hurt, that's what.
Kid: ???
Teacher: To the principal's office.
Kid: O_O
Teacher: NOW!
Principal: What do you think you're doing with that gun?
Kid: Playing wi...
Principal: Do you know someone could have been hurt with that gun?
Kid: It's just a 2-inch plastic Lego gun.
Principal: Don't talk back to me.
Kid: I was just saying, it's a 2-inch pla...
Principal: i TOLD YOU NOT TO TALK BACK TO ME!
Kid: But...
Principal: Don't "but" me when I'm trying to talk to you.
Kid: But...
Principal: AH!
Kid: Bu...
Principal: AH!
Kid: B...
Principal: AH!
Kid: ...
Principal: Okay then, I'm going to have to suspend you; you're mom will be notified.
Kid: -_-'

Um, does that make any sense to you, because it doesn't make sense me.

This whole situation just doesn't compute into my brain.

IT'S TWO INCHES LONG!

Seriously, WTF?

Why? The kid's probably completely freaked out and even said he wouldn't be bring any more toys to school, I'm sure a good lawyer could find a cause of action somewhere in there. Maybe the school district losing some money over this will teach them to calm the hell down, it was a lego for crying out loud. Had it been one of those squirt guns that are made to look like actual guns I might be on their side, but a two-inch lego is clearly an overreaction.

Well the problem is a lot of principals HAVE to over react to this crap now. There are a lot (more than none is a lot in this case) of schools here in Ireland and England that got sued by the parents of kids who tripped and got hurt (Skinned knees hurt not actual injuries) so the only option was to ban running ffs. No sports at play time, no games that involve moving faster than walking. I don't remember anything I did till the age or 11 or 12 not involving running.

Aww come on guys. We all know that the only reason anyone would bring a toy gun to school is because it is filled with heavy radioactive explosives miniturized by a giant budget terrorist operation. That child was obviously a terrorist, he should have been sent to Guantanamo.
