This kid is my f'ing hero.

Also, why is everyone misreading the story and thinks that the mother wants Casey to appologize to Casey? Read the story!

My Opinion On This Situation:

Did Casey have the right to a punch? 100% yes.

Did Casey have the right to slam the kid on the ground? Probably not.

I'm happy that the bully got his ass served, but Casey didn't take the best action from a assault standpoint. If I was in high school and I was in the position, I would have just gotten the bully on the ground and scared him out of his wits with my massive size and weight (yeah, I was tall and overweight as a kid, it's a long and weird story). However, I guess the resolution is the same; the victim wins and the bully makes sure he doesn't screw with said victim again.

Bravo Casey, as someone who was also bullied during primary/high school, i know the only way to deal with it is to put the person on their back in pain.

The school's will do nothing and will continue to do nothing, until people start bringing lawsuits against the staff and principle for failing the students so completely that it comes down to someone filming bullying openly and not getting suspended or expelled, which last time i checked under the local laws there is premeditated assault

Best that the kid learn while he's still young enough to learn, that people will take only so much.

As for my own experiences in high school, it continued until i kicked the leader in the balls in front of the rest and half the class, they gave up after that.

i was also made to apologise, apologise no less to someone who had punched me in the face twice, this person was looking for trouble and leaving school that day for an apprenticeship and happened to find me in the last couple minutes before he left the grounds.

To hell with b##s##@t school policy that i had done something to "provoke" him, this bastard was looking for trouble regardless.

Expell bullies, their friends and reduce their grades permanantly as they leave, if their own futures are crippled because of their own behavoir it might make a difference, but the current 'system' does absolutely nothing except give schools a way to protect their funding and reputations while ignoring a major problem!

GOOD GOD THAT KILLED HIM! AS GOD IS MY WITNESS HE IS BROKEN IN HALF!

On a more serious note, while I don't approve of the sheer brutality of Casey's revenge he is just a kid and probably unaware of the seriousness of what he did so I won't hold it against him and I'm all for giving the bully a taste of their own medicine (though in this case it was a BIG overdose).

Also that's not a piledriver. If anything it's a suplex.

Casey is a legend in my eyes. Was bullied a lot in school (only really stopped later years of comprehensive) but wasn't physically strong enough to put up a fight.

Kid deserved it, if anth else, for natural selection. DARWIN AWARD FOR YOU.

Charlie Sheen says WINNING! to you Casey.

That is what we call "To dumb to live."

Starting a fight with a guy twice your size is beyond stupid, and nature rewards such stupidity with pain.
Darwinian evolution is against all honest science and philosophy. I pray that one day you and yours will see the truth of the Judeo-Christian God and His Word.

As for the video, everyone has a right to defend themselves. But it certainly wasn't the best thing to do. All things considered, he handled it pretty well.

Side note: anyone else think it's weird that this just happened to be filmed?

Looks like whoever filmed it, though, decided to humiliate the little shit by spreading the video despite things not going as previously planned.

And to those who say that Casey was out of order:

I would argue that in attacking Casey, Ritchard decided that his victim's human rights meant nothing to him. Hence, Ritchard's intentional and premeditated act of violence removed his protection by those same rights, and he deserved everything he got.

I think I recognize a Sword of Truth fan here. That is very close to a verbatum quote from "Naked Empire." I definitely agree that casey had the right to defend himself, but I think he should have punched the kid in the face. It's a proportional response thing. If that kid had landed on his head or his neck, he probably would have broken his neck and died. Body slamming a person onto concrete can break some serious bones, and was a little out of line. That's my opinion. I would have kicked him in the nuts, then the face.

I don't know how many times I have to say this; I'm not condemning the kid.
You say this, and yet in the same paragraph you say things like this...
Internet Kraken said:
..and act like it is the morally correct option
...meaning what he did was morally "incorrect"...another term for "wrong"...and this...
Internet Kraken said:
I am talking about this situation and this situation only, not other ones where violence may be justified.
...meaning he was unjustified in this situation.

So you say you're not condemning him yet you keep saying he was wrong, unjustified, incorrect, etc. How is that NOT condemning him?

While I applaud Casey for standing up for himself I do think the piledriver was a bit excessive. I don't know the entire situation (i.e how long this had been going on for, whether or not he was attacked repeatedly etc) but I can't help but think of ways that this situation could have gone horribly wrong and then we would have seen a kid accused of manslaughter or something.

I THREW IT ON THE GROUND! Yeah, that song may have come into my head... But seriously, I've seen similar stuff happen at my school. And this time the bully was MUCH smaller. Though sadly, no pile-driver. Good on you for standing up for yourself, but I wish there could have been a non-violent solution to it.

Wait? his mother doesn't want a video of her son picking on a MUCH larger kid posted everywhere so the BULLIED kid should apologize?

Ahem.... FUCK YOU WOMAN! The world doesn't always work the way you want it to, and don't forget that YOUR kid was the little shit that was picking on others. Your kid doesn't deserve an apology, he doesn't deserve anything of the sort
She in no way is saying that the larger kid should apologize to her son.

"The mother of the bully recently went on Australian TV and said that she wanted her son to apologize to Casey, saying of the viral video 'We don't need this posted everywhere. I would like him to apologize.'"

The subject from the previous sentence, "her son," carries over into her direct quote. Implying that she wishes that her son would apologize to the lager kid. I think it would be best if you edit your post because it does negatively attack the mother in an unkind way.
