There's not a doubt in mind that any of us that have played a campaign mode of an FPS and chucked a controller or two because of the AI's ability to shoot a fly off a tip of a needle. Or get shot from a unknown location.

The idea of killcam's is watch first hand from another perspective of your mistakes, so my question is; Why haven't killcams been intergrated into SP campaigns?

Would you like to see Killcams in campaign modes?

As long as you can turn it off...

I would hate the idea of a Killcam in Single Player. Generally, if I'm killed, I want to get right back into the game. What I don't want is the chance to watch myself get killed in slow motion.

Hell, I don't even like them in multi-player. If I'm getting killed, it's the same issue with the single player. If I'm doing the killing, the game is letting my enemy know where I am.

It would be funny to see myself charge in and get slaughtered from a different perspective but killcams don't really do anything but make the game easier and i have a problem that all games are too easy already.

I can see the reason in multiplayer games (nobody likes camping bastards) but single player...nah

EDIT: I suppose it wouldn't be a problem in a game that has random spawn points but when it's a game where the bad guys are fixed then it's half the battle figuring out their positions.

Maybe not a killcam, but a recording of your level run, with a free camera and slow down/speed up options. I remember Amped (a snowboarding game) for the Xbox did that, and it was pretty fun to watch your runthroughs.

It wouldn't really have a serious use, but then games are supposed to be fun, and I think that it would be a fun feature, so sure add it in. The more features and freedom a game provides, the better!

dunno, i remember killcams from Call of Duty 1. It always looked vastly different from how i thought the scenario went down.

What looks like an intense fire fight on my screen oftentimes looks like me drooling on the ground on a kill cam.

Halo also does that, it's pretty cool.

Singleplayer is not the same as multiplayer. If devs put a killcam in you would see too many lies. Trust me, for the sake of suspension of disbelief, it's better to not have a killcam in singleplayer. It is a cool idea though.

I think if it was used in singleplayer, you would see the AI cheat. So it may not be a good idea XD

The "other" kill-cam that goes in slo-mo/ zooms in to show your handywork can stay though :)

Killcams are to sniff out cheating players and campers, with SP it would just outline the AI problems even more and break all immersion.

What they should feature is a the last few seconds going into slow motion and showing you from what direction the shot came from and where they hit you so you know what went wrong.
And if done well it would be applicable to multiplayer because killcams are still more of a spectator cheat then the solution.

For single player, I don't think it would matter. Unless the AI is firing from a set piece, they're most likely going to be in completely different spots when you respawn/start over.

However, it's helpful in multiplayer if it's done correctly. I like Halo's method where the camera pans towards the direction of your killer. CoD, however, is much more annoying because every kill gives away your exact location to the person you've just killed.

My only concern is that it might kill immersion a bit.
Maybe if it only happened when you pressed the back/select button or something?

In single player ca,paigns the problem is when you die and reload the game, it resets the AI position to where they are programmed to be, killcams are there to show you where your multiplayer opponent is... or in the case of Call of Duty, the Killcam is there so you can excuse yourself for being killed down to lag

In KillZone 2 there`s a sequence where you come accross Scouts, Scouts are Snipers that can turn invisible, part of the anxiety and suspense with this level is that these Scouts are ungodly good shots and they are invisible, knowing they`re positions would remove tension

I am against Killcams

Yes, i am this guy;
Killcams where designed to be a visual teaching ad back when it was introduced. It showed players how they died, what their opponent was doing and how to prevent such deaths in the future, also it was partly for spectator or replays to add some .... oomph.

Cheating players are caught by systems scanning line of memory connected tot he executable, i.e. they look if you hacked. Doesn't always work as well but still. manual sorting out every kill made is an impossible task.

On topic, i would enjoy such things if it fitted with the rest of the presentation, and if it had another purpose then, this ai shot you trough six of his buddies. For instance, in the upcoming ARMA 3, it would be nice to see how exposed i was and how small a target i twas when i got hit, or if i got hit from and aimed shot or some machine gun just spewing at the line. That is useful intel.
