Killing off our favorite characters

In KOTOR when you become evil and you pretty much end up killing over half of your crew who you've grown to like a lot over the course of the game.....except for Carth...he was a prick.

Weighted Companion Cube shall always be missed.

The second time I played through Mass Effect and chose to sacrifice Ashley instead of Kaiden. Ashley was cool, unlike Kaiden. I mostly didn't like Kaiden because he was voiced by the same guy who voiced Carth from KOTOR.

Eli Vance shall be missed.

Dam you finaly get to meet the guy again in metal gear solid 4 and he talks to snake and stops him from killing himself, and after waiting so long to see the guy they go and kill him of with foxdie come on!!!!!! The guy did not seem that bad and it really hit me hard when he was speaking to snake

How... How do you get "deus ex machina" right, when you can't spell convenient? That's... Amazing. I'm baffled.

I guess he doesn't exactly die, but at the end of Shadow of the Colossus, the bad-ass main character gets turned into a damn baby. I mean, that's worse than death, seriously.

fenix from starcraft! ...i just really liked him, he was my second favourite hero.
he helps you destroy like 4 enemy bases then you go and kill him along with that annoying duke guy. (zerg campaign)

It was a shame about Black Guy On The Rooftop in Alone in the Dark 5. You're crawling around the side of the building, and he's there too, and shortly after meeting him he gets crushed by fallind debris. Sad, really.

If it has to be permanent then defiantly Marine because his missions were actually fun after he died COD4 single player went down the tube.

I like it when a character is developed and killed off, as long as it doesn't happen in every single game/movie. I just watched "Click", the Adam Sandler movie for the first time, and I thought it actually had a really good ending when he died. Then it ruined it by saying "ha ha, it was only a dream, everything that has happened so far was pointless."

I'm sure we've all felt that sting, I'm looking at you, companion Cube...

Would you really have liked the game more if you didn't have to euthanize the cube, though? That's one of the game's defining moments, after all.

[Alternate response: The only reason they were able to bring Alyx back was because she was only knocked out by the Hunter. Eli was flat out skull-sucked by the Advisor. There's no coming back from that.]

The only way Eli would die is if G-man intervened, and he only does that in the absolute direst circumstances. The circumstances aren't nearly dire enough to warrant hearing "Hello...mis-ter Fuhreeeeeman" again.
