Killing Time at your Desk

Idea was brought on by yesterdays "What do we do for a living" post, also today is gonna be one of those days that just drag by, so who's got fun/cool/anythingintheleastbitinteresting suggestions for killing time at a desk. And I will not buy a Rubicks Cube...

i surf the internet like a mad man!

Read tons of the escapist, and read heavily into something they mention, like yesterday i spent the day reading about the Zodiac killed and unsolved cyphers and stuff.... yeah.... it was a good day.

Or read facts, or conspiracy theories etc etc anything u can think of! xD

or try and shake out some of those paper clips/twisted staples that get wedged in my keyboard and make it a pain to use

OR try and get the fucking pistol to stay in thanes hand because it doesnt (ME2 figurine) thn again its not really a good look to be seen playing ith an action figure at work

or I orgainse that pile of paperwork I always have yet I dont know what to do with and its too late to ask os it just sits there

So yeah... no "time-killing" needed if i want to get paid. Man... i want a different job, hearing about all this "free time" other people seem to have.

The cheap watch idea wouldn't kill time! Now I could spend loads of time making a Glass Clock (cookies for whoever gets the reference) but when it's finished I'll have screwed myself over...Im either rushed off my feet or twiddling mah thumbs....and of course creeping through The Escapist does help....

If you are actually confined to your desk, start drawing. It may feel boring at first, but just start sketching stuff around you. If you keep at it, within a week your scrawlings will look like those of an artist. Constructive and very time consuming.

I simply write ideas for projects down on paper, for later when i have some time. When i wake up on a day where i have all the time in the world i NEVER have any ideas.

You could try pen spinning, it might be boring at first when you can't do anything, but it gets more fun as you learn new tricks.

looks like they're releasing this on the iPhone, I damn you sir for bring this to my attention! So much for something to do when killing time, I'll have to find ways to drag myself away from it!!

Strong work ethic that My job is very dependant on customers, 20mins of sales, 10mins of the ensuing paperwork and then usually at least an hour between that. Im always on top of my paperwork so I can a) trawl through the escapist [Which I am of course] or b) buy games for when I get home...today alone Ive spent £80 trying to work through the backlog of shit I aint played yet...

I handle a portfolio of around 200 liability claims and have to maintain a strong relationship with brokers. A lot of what I do feels like busy work, but there's never a point where I can in good conscience sit there and think "ah, I'm done, now I can slack off".

I do sometimes check Twitter or email, but this is very brief and my workplace is pretty lax on that. As long as you're not the kind of person who's sitting there shopping online every time the MD walks past (like certain people I could mention), no one really cares.

But no, I don't really have a lot of "free" time.
