Killzone 2 gets a 9.9/10

It got a 9.9 from someone who says he's a PC fanboy. What does everyone think of this? Do you think the review is honest? Do you believe Killzone 2 will live up to the hype as he would have us believe? Personally, I think it will.

Even if it gets perfect scores everywhere it won't stop people being up in arms about it all over the internet.

Scores are stupid(although necessary with professional reviews); the review is likely fake or Beta based, it's obviously going to suffer from ratings inflation anyways because the videogame review process is still immature. Don't get me wrong movie critics also suffer fallacies; they just tend to under rate big movies. Review outlets, especially the big boys, suffer from a handful of reviewing fallacies that tend to over rate big games. This isn't really the post for me to detail what they are.

EDIT: I actually went and read the review and I'll say that:
1. This game looks awesome.
2. It wasn't a very good review.
3. 10 does not mean perfect, it just means better than the rest of its peers (that aren't also tens) A ten can have flaws. And a flawless game can be worse than a game with flaws. This is one of the many reasons numbers are stupid.

Well Mr. Killzone Fanboy (as if you can't tell by your avatar), by saying this, you have revealed your bias in this story. Posting news about gaming is fine, but when you do, at least TRY to look somewhat neutral. I know that nobody's truly neutral, but posting this out of fanboyism, then blasting anyone who's not a fanboy just makes you look stupid.

I'm getting really excited for this game now. The developers know people have high expectations so hopefully they'll try to meet these. Also, I havn't really heard any bad comments from people who have actually played the game.

Anyway, if this game gets really good review scores people will say review scores are crap and some people will say its a huge disappointment like with anything.

normally review publications state a 10 is not perfect, since perfection is un attainable, on the basis of 1 to 10 for us mere mortals 10 means we like something alot. I make sound like a complete nutjob but maybe the reviewer really liked the game, maybe.

Eh, I'll wait till all the main reviewers get their hands on it. Smaller sites like this can get away with fake reviews, plus, when sites give games favorable reviews the game usually reciprocates by linking the review on the game's website, which means an increase in traffic to the review site.

Eipok Kruden it looks like the escapist wasn't a good place to get an opinion on this. I suggest you try somewhere else. Everyone is now assuming your a killzone/ps3 fanboy that thinks any game with a good score definitely means its the best thing ever. Also, we seem to be getting the "no game deserves a 10/10 a perfect game is impossible" idiots that don't seem to grasp basic maths ie. 9.95 rounded to one decimal place is 10.0
