Killzone 2 out now..

Killzone 2 was released yesterday, 25.feb, at least it was in Norway.. So im guessing it is released in many other countries also..

So what i was wondering was..

Have you bought it yet and gotten to play it?
Does it live up to expectations?

EDIT: I've bought it myself now, and i was sorely disappointed.. Would recommend both resistance 2 and bad company over this game..

Yes it did, i didnt expect it to be the best FPS ever. I expectet that it is going to look awesome, have good AI and a good atmospheare, so it lives up my expectations.
It just makes fun to shoot the helmet away from the helghasts and the multiplayer ROCKS.
But im still hoping for a CO-OP DLC

Is there any special twist to the multiplayer compared to other FPS's online?

You can earn Points in Multiplayer and Rank up. At the beginning you just have two rifles, but if you get more points you can unlock weapons like a Shotgun, grenade Launcher... ( like in COD:MW). There are also Unlockable Classes as Medic, Scout and some others. The game doesn't do something new and Innovative, it just takes all the Good things from other FPS' and gets it all together in one.
The only thing I miss is Split-Screen mode Cooperative and Competitive.

I have played an hour of Single Player and the game is phenomenal, up there with the great shooters. I quite enjoy it thus far. Havn't gotten into the multi-player yet, but I intend to soon.

I think this is either the second or third Killzone 2 thread I've seen today. I posted in one earlier about how it was pissing me off, but I had a feeling i would get into it soon. And to be quite honest, I don't like it. The controls and too heavy. I had to change them to COD controls just to avoid losing all patience. Whoever decided that you needed to press R3 to aim is an idiot.

The online is laggy and too uncontrolled. You run around looking for enemies(which is pointless at the moment, because nobody knows the maps enough, which means they all follow each other and it just ends up in a bullet filled orgy in a doorway)until you find some, and just as you're about to kill them, someone else comes up and steals the kill.

The levelling up system seems to have been rushed. It's not very coherent and i can't even tell who has the highest rank out of all my mates who are playing it. There seems to be a lack of variety with the guns. So far i have used the original rifle you're given and nothing else.

Then there is the ridiculous way you have to mute people. I'm sick of hearing distortion and nonsense down the mic. And I would mute the players who are doing it, but it takes so damn long to and you can't even tell which player is doing it because there are so many mics. I'm trying to talk during a game and all i hear is crackling and the occasional "bullshit man!".

But, I did enjoy the single player. The game looks and sounds fantastic. But my patience is already wearing thin with the online. I just spent 3 hours playing World At War, and at no point did I find myself not having fun. Which is not the case for Killzone 2.

Picked it up, stuff got in my way so I only played it for about 45 minutes. Here are some pros and cons that are not obvious

Pros:
.Graphics in menus and first cutscene are unbelievably amazing
.Sensory overload- Constant action makes you always running for your life
Cons:
.Sensory overload- Cant concentrate and you start to get used to the pacing
.Controls need tweaking to your liking, it plays like bumper jumper but I changed it to a more familiar Cod4 esque contorl scheme.
.Cursing, Yeah I like to hear an occasional swear word to get me hyped for a mission, but when i here the same word used as a noun, verb, adjective, predicate, derrogatory statement, conjunction, then its too much.
.By god when you aim, its like your drunk and forgot to take your ridilin.

Dont get me wrong, its a great game. I just wanted to point some stuff you might not know.

I just thought I would bump this to add another issue about the game. I have several friends who bought it, and yet you can't have parties. You can join people, assuming the game is not full and that you're the equivalent rank. Which is unlikely. But I think it's stupid that you can't just start a party and go into a game.

Maybe I'm just being cynical, but what do others think of the game? Am I just being impatient? And am i picking on small things?

Edit* Jesus Christ, this game just gets worse. The servers are down. What utter bullshit.

Yeah.. I bought the game yesterday, played for about 1,5 hours.. Then turned it off.. Sure the graphics was great, but the controls were not at all intuitive.. The controls feel "heavy" and the aiming sucks on ice.. Yes, i tweaked the settings but still..

I thought this was gonna be the game of the year, but already i can say that resistance 2 and battlefield bad company are much better games.. I was sorely disappointed in this game..

I really wanted this to be a great game, but now i dont even know if im a bothered finishing the main story.. And that will be a first.. I always finish games..
