killzone 2 was long heralded as "the saviour for the series". and i don't see why. i have it, ive played it, ive enjoyed it, i didn't not like it. but the thing is, its pretty much the same thing we have seen before but dirtier.

killzone 2 takes the halo storyline (which was probably stolen in the first place) and mixes it with the gameplay of cod 4. which isn't a bad thing. sure its what we have seen before but there seems to be this phase were people have stopped caring for creativity, originality and storyline and have become more focused on graphics and gameplay (which mind you killzone 2 does very well at). the question is, have we lost what we really need and gained something that essentially only makes half the game.

my point is you can't have good graphics and gameplay without also having a good storyline, sure the game could be something amazing but it will never really draw you in like it should.

And thats the entirety of what i believe killzone 2 for the ps3 to be. something great, but unoriginal and mindless.

rent it? definatly
buy it? only if you already havn't got cod 4
steal it from a friend? always

Rather weak review... feels almost like you're just trying to say "lol aint as good as mai Halo 3 / CoD4 noob!"

yea, you don't know what you're talking about. if you did then you would see the holes in your review. NEWB

Not enough substance for a review here. Your point on unoriginality is the only thing that reall rings out, at least in storyline terms. Perhaps explain a bit more why it mirrors CoD4 too much, (from the demo alone I would say the cover mechanic and blowey-upness at least separates it from that.) why you disliked, and why you thought the graphics were good.

Basically, you have the outline of the review here, it is a colouring book, but you need to apply the crayon.

In short, more details.

So? Give him some advice on how to.

Constructively, of course.

I've just played through the main storyline of Killzone 2.. And i gotta say that the game on the whole was dissapointing..
Especially the controls, feel very unintuitive and "heavy", i had to change the settings and tweak everything, still didn't really sit with me..
Alternative 2 settings work best..

Also there was something sketchy with the aiming, cant really put my finger on it though..
And this comes from a ps3 fanboy, so im not flaming it because im an xbox fan..

It is the reaction time, its higher than that of other games

Naturally, an attack on Nazi Separatist homeworld = The destruction of humanity by purple aliens.

I don't own either and even I picked up on that subtle difference, did you even bother playing the game?.
You failed to mention cover systems, sound design and multiplayer.
Your review fails.

In future try to present a balanced opinion, as it is this just reads like a fanboy rant. Break the game down into chunks (Graphics/controls/sound/plot/multiplayer/interfaces etc), give the positives and negatives then judge the game as a whole. People might (maybe) take you more seriously then.

Dude i don't want to get dragged into this too much but it's a fantastic looking shooter and if i had enough money i would go out and buy a PS3 to sit proudly beside my XBOX 360 and play the game my self

Yes, storyline should be a focus for a game like Killzone 2, but I don't know where you are going saying that it "takes the halo storyline." There is absolutely no foundation for that.

Halo features the exploits of a united human front with vast space colonial holdings against a technologically and numerically superior alien threat, hinging on the actions of a super soldier built by humanity, usually fighting alone.

Killzone 2 is a divided and fledgling human space power that cannot even start moving elsewhere without defeating a seperatist human power on another planet. It focuses on a single squad of normal human special ops soldiers who try to defeat the seperatist leader to help finish the war.

And you're right Badass, a proper review should be around two pages, so about 700-1000 words.
Video game reviews might constitute more.

the game is cool the one thing that drives me quackers lol is that when i get shot no body saves me but when my buddy gets hit i'm expected to stop and save his ass and if i don't get to him asap he whines and that is the biggest disappointment of the game

Actually KZ2 does many things different from KZ1 if that is what you are referring to.

This needs to be rewritten. Didn't not like it makes zero grammatical sense.

Please back that accuastion. KZ2 has a facist undertone while Halo is more of stopping a huge invasion.

The KZ2 story line at the end is actually very nice (the part where you talk to Visari). Visari brings good points to the table and the last mission is traceable back to history (storming the Reichstag)

Please back your review more next time.
