The Kinect is an accessory, not a console, so already, before the thing even comes out, this claim is a load of shit.

Also: Hardcore gamers bought the 360, and want nothing to do with Kinect. Casual gamers won't have a 360 to get Kinect, and would most likely get a Wii for a cheaper price. If Kinect WAS a platform, not requiring the 360 to even FUNCTION, this might have been at least a tiny bit profitable. But the math on this is all wrong.

I wonder what'll happen if it falls through? This is *quite* an expensive peripheral, and success is never guaranteed unless you slap Halo, Gears of War and Boobies on the front.

Wait. What was that technique called? The one where you try to make something seem popular so that people will buy it. I'll admit I've been asked about it by one person. One person so daft that they couldn't grasp pre-release hype and thought it was out already. Of course I also met someone looking for a Machete dvd less than two days after it hit theaters. People are strange and stupid. Mostly the latter so it might just do well. I don't think it'll sell millions but I'm not so sure it'll go Tango Uniform either. Ah well, good luck to them.

Well, I did say decent. But 90% of the Wii, Move and Kinect will probably be shovelware anyway. No big change cursing them now.

I think not.

Most "hardcore" players are downright opposed to the thing (I am) and the casual demographic I think would be more than content with their Wii's.

I'm actually hoping that Kinect and Move bomb so that companies will realise that emulating something that wasn't even that good to begin with is a bad idea.
