While browsing on the Internet (as you do) I came across this http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/kinect

Never seen anything like it since the Eye Toy came out, and i admit this is ingenuity, i love how it looks but i bet it will be costly, and I don't want to buy something random like that without knowing if it is actually good or not, if anyone knows first hand or just post what you think!

Wait... This is the first time you've heard about the Kinect?

Microsoft have been hyping up this thing for I don't know how long and NOW you hear about it for the first time?

Him not knowing about Kinect and still posting on The Escapist DOES seem somewhat suspicious...

If this is an advert, it's the worst advert I've ever seen. Where's the second guy that comes in and says "Actually Halshin, it may be more affordable than you think!" To some cheesy backing music?

And did you know that the new model of the Microsoft XBox 360 (tm) is already set to run perfectly with the coming Microsoft Kinect (tm) Periphial, while still only costing just as much as the previous model(*)?

I watched footage from E3 on the Kinect and was completely disappointed, gameplay footage and motion involved looked identical to an Eyetoy.
Plans for the Eyetoy started in fucking 1999 and released in 2003 for the PS2, way to be a decade behind Microsoft.

I didn't know that! Personally, I wonder if the new Microsoft Kinect[sup]TM[/sup] Peripheral will work seamlessly with my current Microsoft XBox 360[sup]TM[/sup] model.

It's also his third post ever.

Here's the thing: Microsoft has, yes, been hyping it up like crazy--in gaming publications that've taken an interest in it, mostly, and if you don't read gaming publications then you've basically been in the dark about this thing called the NATAL that's been talked about a little bit here and there. It shows up in the news elsewhere every once in a while, but to give you an idea of how low-profile this has actually been outside our little world it wasn't until I visited home two weeks ago that my parents heard of it and they're licensed Microsoft product distributors themselves. We gamers, though, we drag every bit of information out of these companies even before they've officially named their product. Really, it's probably only since E3 this year that the rest of the world has been remotely privy to this information.

Are you getting paid for each person that clicks on that link? This is way too suspicious for me to even comment on. (And I bet a thread about the Kinect has been done)

I doubt it, actually. Microsoft already pays directly for advertising on the Escapist.

Of course it does! While the new model of the Microsoft Xbox 360[sup]TM[/sup] is actually designed with the new Microsoft Kinect [sup]TM[/sup] Periphial in mind, as well as having new Wi-Fi capabilities, a bigger hard drive and striking good looks [sup]TM[/sup] that you can customize with your own grubby fingerprints, the current Microsoft Xbox 360 [sup]TM[/sup] model, wich we at Mi...wich we true legit gamers will call the Microsoft Xbox 360 [sup]TM[/sup] shitty edition from now on, will fully support the Microsoft Kinect [sup]TM[/sup] Periphial and Games designed for Microsoft Kinect [sup]TM[/sup].
After all, w...Microsoft [sup]TM[/sup] won't let down it's loyal customers and wants to allow them, too, to experience the future [sup]TM[/sup]!

That sounds fantastic! Thanks Microsoft[sup]TM[/sup]!

(Also, I laughed quite boisterously at striking good looks[sup]TM[/sup].)

Oh lol

Well, if you're ready to deal with about a second of lag and a spasming control scheme, then you might just be able to see what the bottom of your avatar's shoe looks like....

...at the expense of it's skeletal structure.

It looks like an expensive knock off of the Eyetoy. It also just looks like Microsoft trying to get some of that hardware sales chunk the Wii has to make themselves look better and hopefully get some software sales as well.
