HH: "I sell propane and propane accessories, I am also a complete tosser."
PH: "I think I can speak spanish, but I cant."

these are the only two people in the show I have distaste for
rest of the show is pretty good

The show wasn't bad, but it also wasn't one of my favourites. The humor was alright, and it really did remind me some people here in Texas, but...well, I really can't stand Peggy. I know she's supposed to be a parody, but hell, I've fantasized about burning her alive...

Bobby's probably my favourite character next to Boomhauer, but when he goes crazy, it gets on my nerves. You know, the styrofoam head, the ants or termites or whatever they were... that boy ain't right sometimes.
If you just introduced him to some Alamo beer and football he'd behave alot better I tell you hwat.
(Erm, I hope you know I was saying that the way Hank says it... I don't actually use the word "ain't")

I don't think Hank would ever let Bobby have a beer. He seems way too uptight. Part of me is surprised he ever let Bobby date Connie.

Even though it was a spin-off of Beavis and Butthead (it's based upon their neighbor) I liked King of the Hill for maybe one character. Not Dale, Not Bill and definitely not Hank. Can you guess? well i'll give you a hint.

I can see why people enjoy it, but I just find it tedious. I guess you could say I don't like that "light relief" rather that I enjoy blunt humor. :D

I liked it, it was feel-good as you said. I just enjoyed it, and it's nice to find a show that JUST DOES that.

I really enjoy the show. Dale-heavy episodes, especially.

I enjoy the show because it's not trying too hard to be funny. It's a parody on life in Texas for the average family.

Supposed to be, at least... I think.
"When global warming happens *sniff* we'll grow oranges in Alaska"

"Dale you giblett head, it's already 76 degrees outside, if it gets one degree hotter I'm gonna kick your ass"

I love that part, and you know they canceled KOTH for The Cleavland Show, fucking dumb fucks

I only recently started watching King of the Hill, and have to say that I find it not only funny, but more, for want of a better word, wholesome, in that there isn't so much of a shock factor as they use in South Park and Family Guy, not to say I don't love them, but the comedy feels more genuine.

It was okay. I used to hate it, but now that I've seen a few more episodes, it kinda grew on me. It's not my favorite show but I'll watch it if it's on. I thought Bobby and Dale were the most entertaining. The rest just got on my nerves.

It just wasn't funny. It's not funny! When I watched it I genuinely thought it was an attempt at a serious cartoon that had just gone a bit weird in places.

I don't watch, it. The look of it puts me off. In this sense the Simpsons is the same. I have trouble watching a show that I don't like the look of.

I am fairly fond of it. It has memorable characters (as evidenced by this thread), and watching the re-runs is a nice way to spend weeknight evenings. The overall stories told in each episode were usually funny and sometimes had surprisingly serious tones.

My only real problem with it was the Hank-Ladybird-Bobby thing. From all the episodes I've seen (a fairly good chunk of the series), Hank quite clearly prefers his dog to his own son. He takes the side of Ladybird over Bobby in the few episodes where it matters (especially the allergy one), separates Ladybird and Bobby from working together (in the dance episode), and in general Hank usually sees the worst in and of his son (and his 'stupid magic tricks'). It really really bugs me for some reason.

I do like the show though. And in most other respects Hank's a great guy. And I'm not an anti-dog person, before you ask.

In my opinion, one of the best primetime cartoons ever made. Seasons 1-9 were gold, but it went a little flat after that. The writing and premise were spot on, and every character was brilliant (except when they decided to add Lucky to the line up, I always found him a bit boring); I love how it takes the image of idealized Americana and twists it around with little touches, like affairs, immigrant neighbours, paranoia, and in Bill's case, psychological damage.

It was a shame to see it go out with a whimper instead of a bang, but those golden years were priceless, and classic television.
