I loved the hell out of king of the hill.

one of my top 5 animated TV shows of all time.

I especially love the lines it left burned into my brain.

Bobby hill screaming "THATS MY PURSE!"

Dale yelling "SQUIRREL TACTICS!" as he scrambled over a fence.

Bill saying "I wish i had a son to kick me in the nuts..."
Dale then kicks him in the balls and as Bill rolls around on the ground Dale says "Be careful what you wish for!"

I love it. I've seen every episode or nearly every one and love all of it. It's second only to the Boondocks in the best cartoon category.

I don't watch, it. The look of it puts me off. In this sense the Simpsons is the same. I have trouble watching a show that I don't like the look of.
The way you describe it makes it sound like it did exactly what Judge wanted it to do.

Bobby's probably my favourite character next to Boomhauer, but when he goes crazy, it gets on my nerves. You know, the styrofoam head, the ants or termites or whatever they were... that boy ain't right sometimes.
If you just introduced him to some Alamo beer and football he'd behave alot better I tell you hwat.
(Erm, I hope you know I was saying that the way Hank says it... I don't actually use the word "ain't")

I don't think Hank would ever let Bobby have a beer. He seems way too uptight. Part of me is surprised he ever let Bobby date Connie.
I know, I was just following along. See my intentional phrasing of the word "what", like when Hank says "I'll tell you hwat". And I don't see why Hank wouldn't let Bobbie date Connie. He's not racist, just sort of ignorant (which can be excused, not to mention the Kahns have alot of their own ignorance). That, and Bobby seems feminine/unmanly enough to him, maybe it makes Hank feel better to see him with a girl. After all, better for him to date her than he be one of dem dere dose godless queers.

I hated it, I hated nearly every part of it, and I was glad when it ended. Now, however, every time I see Sarah Palin I think of that damned show.

I do hope Mike Judge will do something new though, the man's work is iconic, imo.

I like King of the Hill.

Mostly like the Boomhauer and Dale heavy episodes. Hate the Peggy and Nancy heavy episodes.

Also hate the episodes where they try to get political, like the episode with George W Bush in it. I think Mike Judge is at his worst in cartoons when he tries to get them too political. His show that came after King of the Hill, the Goodie Family largely sucked because he got too political with it.

On a side note, I loved Mike Judges movies Office Space and Idiocracy.

I liked it but the last few seasons were getting stuck in a huge rut.
remember this later episode?
  • 1. Someone is bored, sad, angry, ect. and Start doing x, y, or z.
    2. they start getting really into/obsessed with x, y, or z.
    3. they get into an argument or misunderstanding with either the main characters/ or dicks made especially for the episode to be the episodes dick, due to x, y, or z.
    4. The neighborhood gets angry at the character.
    5. the main character was right and the dick was wrong.
    6. The main character has to save rainy street, even thought they're mad at them.
    7. everythings back to normal and the dick gets their just dessert.

basically everyone was waaaay too stupid in the show, unless they were the hero of the episode. And don't get me wrong I really like it, but it had to end.
90% of the time if they have to resort to marrage or babies, the shows pretty much over, the only time this didn't happen was scrubs

I loved it, it kept consistent with the characters and humor. All of the characters worked together to create humor, they didn't try setting up jokes they only tried being themselves to create a situation where comedy thrives in. That's a Grade A formula.

Hank Hill is by far the guy I can agree with most. If only because he honestly believes that hard work, integrity and honesty deserves to be rewarded and expected. To me, the world would be a better place with that kind of ideology. Granted it would also be boring, but even Hank Hill knew when to let people be people and when to stop jackassery.

Dale Gribble however remains to be my uncontested favorite. Although, if it were just him, Bill and Boomhauer... then he wouldn't be as funny. It takes a straight man - Hank Hill in this case - to make Dale seem hilarious because you need that comparison to draw out just how insane this guy is. You can't do that with the other two.
