Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 15

My god! I never thought I'd see the day where these two games would be revealed.
Versus XIII has been in the works for 7 damn long years and it seems the wait is starting to pay off in terms of gameplay and visuals.

Not much to be honest.

It's only a personal POV, but the Kingdom Hearts series never did much for me at all, and Final Fantasy as an ARPG just isn't Final Fantasy to me.

Seriously, they just need to stop pissing about and remake FF7. A lot of Final Fantasy fans fell out of love with the series the further away it strayed from it's origins, and I can't understand why they don't return to them.

I would disagree with you on FF15. To me it seems to want to take a more direct approach in terms of combat and immersion, which is something I'm more than open to given that there are alot of JRPGs that don't rely on turn based combat.

Tales of the Abyss and Xillia are huge games in terms of this and seem to implement real time fighting well.

On top of that, you say it seems to be stemming away from its origins, but it looks more like its trying to recapture the feel of FF7 and FF8 in its environment and character designs. And secondly why should they remake FF7? It wasn't the best but while it did have a good story it was just overrated. (This coming from someone whose first FF game was 7)

I'm just rather interested in terms of this games story and where it plans to go. After all we know nothing will ever trump the masterpiece that was Final Fantasy 4 so I think we're all due for a change of pace.

Yeah, just gave it a shot a few minutes ago, it started working. Maybe it's just the E3 buzz.

Kingdom Hearts 3 sure does look like a Kingdom Hearts game. It certainly does. I kinda lost Kingdom Hearts after the second, all the handhelds and stuff started coming out and the plot synopses I read seem really fucked up and complicated. Good to see this fucking thing finally come out though.

FF XV looks alright. Seems like the game wants to have you play it this time around, but we'll wait and see.

I was actually quite disappointed when I found out about 70% of the new games Sony revealed were JRPGs. They can't count as new games, surely? When one ends in 3 and the other 15...

I believe we're nearly encroaching on a joke once made by PSM in the letters section that made a humorous jab by making faux letters from the future, and someone was talking about Final Fantasy 17 I think. Hoo boy.


Anyway back on track, if that is actually gameplay in the FF trailer, looks like they turned the game into some kind of DmC type deal. Not sure if it's an improvement.
Overall I'm meh about it.

Not sure how I feel about FFXV, their last few attempts have just hurt me physically now I don't really have much faith in them.

I'd been saying all day, after the massive fuck-up that was Xbone, that if the PS4 did it right, I'd be theirs. Then they finally announced FFXV and KH3 and now I am a very, very happy girl. (I do have a top of the line PC as well, though.)

For the traditional RPG, I'll stick with Tales - FF can innovate if they want. Indie games are making the tradiitional RPG experience these days, let Squeenix make something different, they seem to have been learning their lessons after FFXII. And XII-2... and ... ... we'll ignore Lightning Returns.

I'm super excited about Kingdom Hearts 3 personally, it's been one of those games I've wanted to see announced but would never show up, and it's nice to finally see Kingdom Hearts in HD, it's crazy to think the series skipped over one of the longest console generations.

It's funny(or sad) to think that ten years ago the announcement of a new proper Final Fantasy game would've lit the gaming world on fire, now it's just only one of many other announcements.

I am cautious about both but am more looking forward to FFXV I didnt really enjoy Kingdom Hearts 2 that much but I dont dislike the series and my interest could definitely be peaked later but atm XV looks more interesting because it looks fresher which is what I like about the FF brand they keep mixing things up even if that does lead to some horrible games sometimes.

Kingdom Hearts (Along with KHII and Shadow of the Colossus) was the only reason I got a PS2. It also looks amazing! But sadly, I don't think I will get it, or a PS4 either. Unless this game comes out on the PS3, I won't be able to get it.

Bloody hell, KH, now I'm gonna have to buy ANOTHER console... I'm pretty sure most of the consoles I own were bought specifically for Kingdom Hearts games at this point.

I wonder if with the new acquisitions for Disney if KH3 will feature appearances from the Muppets, Marvel Universe or Star Wars or if they'll just keep to what the previous games already had to choose from (which is still quite sizable).
