I want to know who namine is, what Sora did between the two games. I know he killed a bunch of orginization 13, but what was he trying to do? One more question, was Roxas' life just part of a computor program Ansem made? That part still confuses me :p
Play Chain of Memories and 358/2 Days. That will answer your questions.

By the way, It wasn´t Ansem that possessed Riku. It was Xemnas, Nobody of Xeranhot, Ansem´s apprendice.
Incorrect. Xehanort's Heartless possessed Riku, not his Nobody.

Yeah I never understood what was going on in the second game because of stuff like this. Add several prequels and obscure titles on various consoles and KH can bite me. I love the series but it's too complicated considering kids are a part of the target audience.

I didn´t like Atlantis in KH2. It his a game, a good game, Not a FUCKING MUSICAL!
wait, are you complimenting or insulting the game? I'm confused. o.0

OT: No, Riku is, and never was a Heartless. where'd you get that idea?

you know, I didn't think The Escapist had this much respect for KH. then again, its better than the recent FF games.

I seriously need to give The Escapist more credit toward JRPGs.

(oh, If anyone asks, I love myself a good JRPG.)

While i understand people not liking the first KH little mermaid zone i actually enjoyed the KH2's level.

It was a nice little break from everything else and i found the songs amusing. It was also neat because missing some of the ques resulted in people getting ***** slapped around.

Also i remember hearing KH3 has nothing to do with Sora, but rather the three new characters in the PsP game. Its a prequel i think.

I kinda was hoping the third game would be about the worlds breaking apart that was talked about in the beginning. That would be fairly cool.

I think you mean Amen sister, but I'll let it slide =p But I agree, Riku needed far more screen time, you never got a chance to truely let him shine. The same can be said for Demyx. He would have made such a fantastic villian.
I think the lack of screen time is one of the reasons why he was so cool. Besides he technically got his own game in Reverse Rebirth.

Now, Sora in his Darkness form. I really wish the game had delved deeper into that happening. The idea of Sora having two sides due to his time as a heartless is pretty damn awesome and soooo wished we would get a true heartless form rather then one intended as a punishment.

No, Riku never became a heartless. He was just possessed by Ansem (Or Xehanort if you want to get technical). Which I actually find ironic. Riku was the one who most used the darkness yet never became a heartless. However, Sora did and Kairi also lost her heart to make a Nobody. Man the series is confusing as hell yet still so awesome.
Amen, brother lol. The game was so awesome, and so was Riku. He never really was used to his full potential. The final boss fight though was wicked, yeah? Sora and Riku going all Jedi with the beams and everything xDD

I just hated how in this game the combat was made so easy. All you really had to use was the Triangle button for every boss and BAM, done.

:x My bad xDD

But yes, Riku kicked so much ass, and he was always so difficult to beat, especially the last Riku fight in KH1 >_< It took me FOREVER to beat him. He kept flying around and everything.

Demyx annoyed me lol. But I LOVED Axel and Zexion. Zexion was so awesome. Though his copy abilities were a bit cheap xD.

His Darkness form was really strong, surprisingly. And I remember there was a certain way to activate it. Like a timer with the Forms or so lol. My only problem was the inability to turn it off. I honestly wasn't a fan of most of the Forms. The only one I loved using was the Red one. The Blue one and Master Form I only used to power up and get the special skills.

I would have loved to be able to level up Darkness Form and get special abilities or so. Like....like.... well, I'm not sure what you could take from Darkness Form xDD

Each form, except the final form, added point to your darkness meter(all invisible) and if you hit ten points you turn into your darkness form. You also took 1.5X damage and dealt .5X damage and couldn't pick up health orbs.

Still, i savored every moment of being heartless sora. My favorite part is when you go heartless Sora hangs lazily by his foot from ledges instead of by his hands.

After Darkness my favourite was final form, just because of how fluent Soras attack animations were. You really got a sense of how powerful Sora had become with the form.

Yes, I adored Final Form. But as I stated earlier, it just sucks you couldn't get it until the end of the game. Not much you could do with it. Hell, you couldn't even fight the final boss with it >_<

I agree. I adored Final Form. But as I said earlier, I just hate how you didn't get it until the last boss. And to top it all off, you couldn't USE it against the last boss. Even though all the last boss was was pressing the Triangle button over and over >_<

EDIT: Sorry, it said the other one wasn't posted so I did it again >_<

Umm, you could get Final Form WAAAAAY before the final fight, it's just completely random, like Anti Sora was.

To be most technical after that incredibly badass fight on the tower that replicates the end movie from the first game is when you get a chance to gain it. However unlike Dakrness, or Anit-sora as its truly called but Heartless or Darkness sora sounds so much cooler ya know, It is random in the truest sense. As there is no telling when your going to unlock it where Anti-Sora uses a system of Anti-points to determine when Sora is going to lose control next.

*coughs* I'ma stop nerding out now....

I was reluctant to play at first in fear of the Disney Characters making it so childish.
Just wanted to point out that it's ironic that you were afraid that the game would be "childish" on account of the Disney characters, and yet you repeatedly use stereotypicaly childish emoticons ("xD" and ">_<").

As far as Sora is concerned, I never really liked him. I found him to be impossible to relate to, and generally...inhuman. I liked to pretend he was either a cardboard standee, or else just mildly brain damaged whenever he was in a cutscene.

Oh. Right. Original topic. I don't honestly know what Riku's deal was. Kingdom Hearts is a Square Enix game, which means the story is necessarily convoluted. In fact, I don't think the specifics of Riku's situation ever really confused me. What boggled my mind more (most likely because I didn't play Chain of Memories or any of the re-releases) was Roxas's inclusion in the second game. He didn't really seem to be of much consequence, to me. I always kinda felt like he was just thrown in there because they needed a character to act as filler. I guess that's kind of my problem with Sora, himself, really. He always seemed more like a plot device than a main character, if that makes any sense...

I always kind of thought Axel might be Riku's Nobody. It really reflected in his relationship with Roxas, the "older brother" type friendship that Sora and Riku share.
Axel is, according to 358/2 Days, the Nobody of someone called Lea.

I thought that to, but no one else has a name like Sora/Roxas.

For instance, Xemnas is not Xehanort spelled all mixed up.

No, but it is Ansem X all jumbled up, which is what we were led to believe his original name was.

Really? I could've sworn Anti-Sora (I like that term better than darkness Sora personally, especially since it technically makes more sense) was random as well. I did a second play through of the game where I used the Forms more openly, instead of as Boss killers (like what most people do with super moves), and I rarely acheived Anti-form. Meanwhile, I managed to get Final Form a little over 1/2 way through, and on my first playthrough I got it while fighting my way up the stairs of that big wizard's tower (Mickey's teacher, who's name escapes me at the moment).

Not really, that video was mostly for Birth by Sleep, hence the title at the end. Square Enix said that they haven't started KH3 because of all the Final Fantasy games they've been working on. Square's creative director said they were going to announce something big this year, all clues leading to KH3. If they do, It'll probably be done at TGS.

Ah. Well, guess that's what happens when you don't keep up to date with the news. xP

EDIT: Also, something tells me the OP is under the same impression I was, which is where the confusion is coming from.
