It's not meant to be realistic, its Kingdom Hearts. How often do you see Disney characters fighting alongside a 12 year old boy or whatever.

Chainsaws do not make a game great. I don't like KH, but even I know chainsaws would ruin what KH is. Tacking on chainsaws is just stupid.

In reality the keyblade was closer to being tacked on, if I read this right. The original idea was chainsaws, and I think Mickey destroying people with said tools would be interesting enough to ensure I played at some point.

Seems like it might ruin the magic, hmm? I confess to quite enjoying KH2; as a bit of childish fantasy it does very well. Chainsaws don't really fit into that picture.

This. And despite the "childish fantasy" I felt the story was quite deep. The chainsaws would've destroyed the whole illusion. Besides how would chainsaws work with the premise of the first game?
