...get a dog?

Also, if it's an 'outdoor' cat, then why does it need to come inside? Doesn't it live outside?
No it just goes outside to kill things and run about or whatever they do(no one knows) and they sleep and mozy about inside:)

Five years ago my cat would have dealt with this problem on her own, that is the problem with time.

To keep the naihbors cat out instructions.

1.) Aquire one flashbang grenade
2.) Aquire one fishing line
3.) Tie fishing line to pin of flashbang.
4.) Tape flashbang near catdoor.
5.) tape the fishing line on the other end of the cat door, making a trip wire
6.) put large box surrounding the door so your cat dosn't set it off, let your cat out the front door instead
7.) Wait fo other cat.
8.) repeat steps as neccesary until other cat stays away.

Problem solved. :)

I remember a while ago I fell asleep downstairs and I was woken up by a cat meowing in my face. I was really scared because I didn't where it came from but it kept on meowing so I tried to coax it outside by opening up all the windows and doors.

You think you have cat problems, our neighbour has a really old cat which kept coming to our house, and then the neighbour moved away, selfishly leaving the damn thing behind. Now, it always comes in through the cat flap, eats our kitten's food, and meows loudly by the door at 3am. Oh and also, it shits EVERYWHERE. I have never hated something so much, and I do not know what to do, as I have two cats which need to come in and out the house, so removing the cat flap is not an option. I cannot talk to the neighbour about it as she is long gone and refuses to take responsibility for it. And as its really old, I decided to just wait for it to die. That was two years ago, its still alive. I come home from work and its sitting on my bed staring at me, its driving me insane.

Have you tried calling animal control?

I'm surprised no one has suggested this yet but there are cat doors you can buy and install that come with a collar that opens the door when the cat is near it, meaning only your cat could open the door. The neighbor cat is just out of luck.
i think you should take another look -

Something like this [http://www.smarthome.com/6191C/Infrared-Locking-Cat-Door/p.aspx] should do.

Spray the unwanted cat with water when it comes in.. They hate that and it does no harm to the kitty..

I know that I could call the RSPCA but I had a cat problem before, and they just told me advice down the phone, even though I already knew the advice and had tried it. Anyhow, it is a tricky cat. It waits until I open the front door, and itll leave through the cat flap.

Throw it in a cat carrier and take it to the closest RSPCA place, they should take it.

My god, this isn't as difficult as you're making it out to be. Hose the fucking cat down with water at the very least pick up a good powered supersoaker, they're pretty cheap. It will also be a blast tormenting the little piece of shit. If nothing else give it a good fucking kick with a sturdy shoe, it will learn one way or another to stay the hell away. Hell if I were there i'd do it for you.

Don't be such pansies people, this isn't a politically correct world like you want it to be, remember? Animals still kill animals as a general rule, they don't hug each other to get their point across.

This is for Suplex, not Paddin. Paddin' I would recommend caging it and turning it in to your friendly RSPCA so they can euthanize it.

You are right, ive had enough, I shouldn't be the one looking after it. I don't have a cat carrier but ill makeshift one. I can't believe my neighbour though, apparently cause the cat is old it would have a "hard time adjusting to the new house"... yeah ok, leaving it to raid other peoples houses is way better

If you have the money go for the electronic catflap. Some of em come with a collar that has the key built into it, so unless your cats able to take the collar it's self off it shouldn't get lost. I would just suggest grabbing it if you can and taking it down to the pound but since your cats also an outdoor cat, that would probably just get your neighbor to do the same thing with your cat.

It may sound cruel, but have you thought about calling Animal Control? The situation you are in is unacceptable, and if you're worried about them putting the other cat to sleep, not all pounds do that. Alternatively, you could try to find an SPCA [http://www.spcai.org/] near you.

EDIT-

Those of you who have suggested that I should try talking with my neighbor should know; my neighbor does not like me.
Even so, surely if the cats are fighting, he would want to keep his one out of danger? His cat is intruding on your property, causing harm to both cats, so surely the onus of responsibility is on him. You should try talking it out and if he is unresponsive, threaten to spray his cat with something disguting... or something.
