Knives!

I've just come back from the flea market where I purchased a nice pocket knife. I've always liked knives, and I'm wondering if any escapists do too! So, do you own a knife? If so, what kind?

The one I purchased today is a Schrade Essentials SES6 with a zebrawood handle and a liner lock.

I had a fear of anything that cuts and my friends teased me with knives most of the time. I still do, but I'm less nervous around them now. So no, I don't like knives.

Um... I own a couple of pocket knives. Just for general utility.

I keep losing them, buying new ones, then finding the old ones a few days later. 'Tis annoying.

I have the knife that I was awarded in Boy Scouts when I achieved Life Scout and turn 18 so it was my last official meeting. I'm not really sure what kind of knife it is. But it's a pretty good knife and I've used it for things here and there.

Also it's not really a KNIFE, but I did buy one of those cane swords from a gun show.

I have a black Victorinox swiss army knife that a friend gave me after they got a new red one. I wanted to get a red one as well, as they have more blades and things on it than the black models, but it is a cool little knife anyway.

Let me tell you a little about my knives.

I own two sets of chef's knives. One is a simple three piece kit, and the other is a full blown carving/filleting/kitchen/boning/vegetable/paring set with a meat cleaver to boot, both sets are in addition to those already displayed in my kitchen for regular use. My house is dotted with various questionably legal blades. I have three seven inch butterfly knives, a switchblade, two eight inch folding knives, and three five and three quarter inch folding knives, all with locking mechanisms which aren't strictly legal. I also have a Swiss army knife, but that's really a given.

OH! I almost forgot. I also have a machete and a panga, both of which have sheaths that are easily attachable to shoulder straps, should you wish to take a walk in the jungle and need to hack through the undergrowth,.

So, anyway. I guess I have a bit of a fascination with knives, but don't own any because at my age it may seem a bit suspicious. But it might be fun to pull a bigger one out if I'm getting mugged.

Love them in the kitchen, they are the most important tool for a crappy cook like me. Though I haven't figured out yet how I can use them for making pancakes. A pocket knife would work for me, but only if the knife is the main tool.

I've got a few.

One basic grey one wear the blade has a little curve that will catch and tear shit up, two blues one with deceptively large blades, and one pink one I call my "****** knife". Not to be offensive or anything. Its a reference to "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang". The knife is really sharp, but it isn't the most soundly made knife, so I have a feeling after a use or two, I'd have to drop it for something better.

I've got a few machetes I bought while I was going to an off-roading thing so I could clear away any crap that got in the way. I'm thinking of putting the nicer one in a red box with a glass front that says "IN CASE OF ZOMBIES BREAK GLASS" on it and hanging it over the fire place.
