Opened up steam and i saw that Kotor 2 is out on steam, YAY.
It is surprising that it is on steam since i read some were that it was too bugged and Lucasart didn't want to have on a downloading platform.
Now i just wonder if they integrated the restoration patch, but this is really great.

So are you going to get it off of steam?

I remember playing a bit of the Xbox version at a friend's house years ago. I liked some aspects of the game (new skills that made blaster users more viable, strong writing and dialogue), but I was frustrated at how long it took for the story to actually get going. Complaints of its rushed ending scared me away as well.

I've considered giving the game another chance for some time, especially with the restored content mod. It seems this would be the perfect time to do so.

EDIT: A thought just occurred to me: is this LucasArts' way of testing the waters to see if people are still interested in a "true" KOTOR 3? TOR didn't meet expectations of retaining players, and KOTOR fans have been clamoring for a third installment for years. Maybe they're examining the viability of such an endeavor by seeing how sales for KOTOR 2 play out.

If that's the case, then

The real question is, can you make it work on your rig?
Well actually it works just fine on my PC, i just installed a High rez mod and the content restore one. It crashes after I alt+tab 5 times in less than 2min, well like Darksiders2, and if you have some problems just enable the windows XP compatibility.

P.S: I have the 4 CD version of it and my box is falling apart :(

yes, we know. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.386028-A-very-good-RPG-is-now-on-Steam-You-should-buy-it-And-stuff]

And no, I'm not getting it. Not yet, at least. I really like the idea of having my games via digital distribution, so I don't have to carry them with me, however, KotOR 2 is a game I already have and it's here with me. I'll even be playing it soon. I still wishlisted it on Steam - some day, when I have the cash to spare, I'll probably buy it.

The only issue with the KotOR series is memory leaks, but they have unofficial patches for that. (If you are a PC user). I would love to have them both on steam.

Wow I never thought I'd see the day... I already have it on disc so I won't be getting it but I wonder if they successfully optimized it for windows 7. I had the hardest time getting it to run.
