Kratos Throws Down in New Mortal Kombat Trailer

Anyway, am I the only one getting a little irritated with everyone assuming the Xbox is gonna get an exclusive character? The Xbox usually gets a LOT of things either exclusively, or much much earlier, but when the PS3 get's one or two exclusive characters everyone thinks that the Xbox must get one too. I think they would've announced it by now, don't you?

Check this interview [http://www.giantbomb.com/gdc-2011-mortal-kombat/17-3889/] out. It definetly sounds like both platforms will get exclusive stuff - though the 360 might not get an exclusive character. At the moment, it seems like the 360 will be getting some kind of exclusive online mode.

Huh, that's pretty interesting. I find it intriguing that, assuming there is exclusive content for the 360, they haven't yet announced it, but that's an interesting find, thanks. Maybe one day I can kick your ass at Mortal Kombat, eh?

Definitely a worthy addition to the roster, and a great way to celebrate MK returning to its violent, blood-soaked roots.

Still kind of hoping Xbox players will get a similar treat at some point down the line, though. I can't really think of anyone who would fit quite as well as Kratos does, but it'd be nice all the same.

Even PS3 owners got Joker exculsivly in Arkham Asylum.
Mabye for once us 360 can get Master Cheif in a game while Sony lickers can sit on their LBP beds crying with their Solid Snake plushie...or vice versa.

We basically got Master Chief in Dead or Alive 4. I mean... It's not actually him, but it's the same spartan armour, so it might as well be.

Honestly though, there's a fair few characters from the Microsoft stable that could be fit in with no difficulty. MK has cyborg robots that fire missiles, bombs and energy nets; a dude with mechanical arms; psycho-kenesis; swords, sai, spears, axes and arrows; summoning fire, lightening, ice and flaming skulls; ghosts - via Nightwolf; Gods; aliens; shapeshifting; cloning; and finally, Stryker - who shoots people and throws grenades.

Plenty of ways to get Microsoft characters in there. I mean, yeah, Kratos fits better than any Microsoft character I can think of, but there's precedent for some mad shit to happen in Mortal Kombat.

The Scar on Kratos's chest is from GOW2.

He gets stabbed in GoW3 aswell...atleast that's how I remember it..I might be wrong though. Haven't played through GoW 3 in a while xd

You're right about that, but the Scar is present for all of GOW2 and 3! You remember what happened at the start of the game?

That actually looked really good - most of those moves come straight out of the GOW games, and when he's battling on the Olympus stage it's almost exactly like the Zeus fight at the end of GOW3. He almost looks like he was meant to be there.

At the start of GOW 2 after Kratos beat the Colossus by chanelling his energy into the Blade of Olympus Zeus took it off him and gave him a new hole right in the chest.

I find the God of War series to be very overhyped.
But damn, his inclusion here is a stroke of genius. And the implementation of the quick time event a-la his own games - nice touch.

Nah, you're not- I think so too.

I wouldn't say he looks out of place, he just fights a little odd.

When you think of Kratos' combat you think of very swift, direct and brutal chainblade action. Here he doesn't seem to be as spirited, like he just wants to get it over with quickly so he check his phone messages.

well i hope it isn't as shit as MK vs DC the premise was good but the control was waaaaaaay to clunky it was like my character was covered in syrup.

need fluidity in a game like that and it doesn't look too promising from the trailer we shall see, maybe the person playing for the demo was just shit.

the controls are very weird at the beginning for someone who's used to Street Fighter, but you get used to it. also the person playing these youtube videos is always shit. it's a natural law

Yeah, he gets that scar in 2, but he does get impaled with that sword a couple of times in the games.

Marcus Fenix! Jax used to shoot guns so Marcus could as well.

But I don't really like exclusive characters or really any character that Netherrealm studios didn't make. If we think back to the MK vs DC disaster, you can see why I don't want other characters in there. XD
