Pardon my naivety, but is Kross the head techie? I glanced the 404 pages and saw his/her contact info, so I figured he/she would have their hands full with inquiries.

Also, where can I find a full list of Escapist staff? [sub][sub][sub]Um, if someone doesn't mind to take a couple minutes to help me out, that is. I will happily bookmark this information.[/sub][/sub][/sub]

Thanks everyone. Stuff is finally coming up with the kiddies turning their attention elsewhere and my having black holed about 6000 IPs so far. They were running s script to refresh the front page as fast as possible, and unfortunately we don't have the infrastructure in our little half rack to deal with that amount of (technically legitimate) traffic.

The odd thing is I've been on the receiving end of dozens of DDoS attacks (usually kiddies targeting my IRC servers) and this is the first time I've seen someone actually brag about it on something as public as twitter. Sure makes framing the attack period a bit easier.

Of more interest to you, as far as I can tell, this was just people spamming the front page from thousands of different IPs, nobody actually accessed any non public parts of the servers. I've still got more digging to do to verify, but everything seems clean for now.

There's quite a good list here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.202272-The-Escapist-Community-and-Forums-Codex-Index-Guides , but it's often not up to date.

In general, contact Kross/Virgil for Technical (Tech Team Group), Spinwhiz for Social (Moderator Team Group), and PM one of the Reporters if you've got a hot news tip.

Longterms have italic names, Superlong terms have Gold names.

Just want to clear things up a bit: Spinwhiz [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Spinwhiz] is no longer the Community Manager, Nasrin [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Nasrin] is. Thus, any issues with Moderation and such should be directed to her. Spinwhiz left us for a cool new job elsewhere, though he's still roaming around acting as a moderator from time to time.

Also, a somewhat accurate list of the Escapist Staff can be found here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/content/about], though you'll note Nasrin has still not been switched to Community Manager yet. As you can see, the list does not include the staff's real names, but if you know who's who (in other words, if you stalk them too much know the site too well), it should prove to be fairly useful.

Alternatively, the Themis site [http://www.themis-media.com/content/team] also has a (pretty much the same) list of the staff, but there's also these nifty little bios of some staff underneath, with links to their forum profiles.
