So excited for this one and red dead redemption.. rock star is going to have a good year.

I hope this doesn't make the game a 14 hour cut scene, like that heap MGS4

Man, that's impressive. But since it's film noir about 90% of that is going to be a guy talking to himself.

The really funny thing is that all of those pages are going to be read by one man. And that man's name is Don LaFontaine [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_LaFontaine].

"In a world, ruled by sex, greed and corruption..."
THE Don LaFontaine?

I'm all over this like a rash.
It would be funny if there was a special bonus cheat were you can change to voice to Morgan Freeman.
But still Don LaFontaine! Holy Epic Narration Batman!

Suck it, Bioware!

But that's... a lot of pages... I hope they don't try to print it out, would take forever with my printer.

You'd have to read the entirety of the Lord of the Rings trilogy 22 time to approach that number.

Holy cutscene, Batman, I hope the voice acting is good!

Don LaFontaine is, as has already been pointed out, sadly no longer with us.

I vote Morgan Freeman... hmm, or maybe Peter Cullen (voice of Optimus Prime in those new Transformers movies).

I just hope that Team Bondi isn't falling under the 3D Realms curse: constantly adding and changing and going back to the point where they never complete their project. Especially to the point where their project is still not complete long after the voice actor they want has passed.
I think this is one good reason why Valve went to episodic gaming with Half Life 2 and Blizzard with Starcraft 2.

...How many pages was Les Rougon-Jacquart by Emile Zola? I know it was twenty books, but I don't know how many pages that amounts to...
also, first game to be released on it's own hard drive, instead of a disk?
And I'm expecting a ton of tl;dr for this :p

22k pages for a video game does not translate to 22k pages of story.

From what I've read, L.A. Noire is a very dialogue-heavy game. There are subtle choices that you can choose when interrogating a suspect. You can be aggressive, sympathetic, or skeptical, all kinds of different responses, and each of those responses have different reactions and different things branching out.

That's what I've read on the GameInformer article, it looks interesting and it'll definitely be on my radar.

Just hope that the script is 22,000 pages of good writing and not 10,000 good ones and 12,000 "Yeah... so... nice weather?" pages.
Which would be hilarious, by the way.
This and Read Dead Redemption sound very promising... almost TOO promising.
