L4D2 AI worse?

Over the past year playing with L4D1 I grew accustomed to the AI not using grenades and having fairly poor pathing in CUSTOM maps and, perhaps, being a few seconds slower to react to specials than a decent human player, But these AI in l4d2.. Oh these guys are fucking MORONS!
I can barely remember half the times they've UTTERLY failed me because I usually go into a BLIND RAGE when it happens!!
Here's several examples I CAN remember:

-I was guarding the "pouring area"(or whatever) in the motel scavenger level with AI coach while my team mates fetched fuel cans. Seconds later I was STRANGLED to death by a smoker while Coach was standing idle TWO FUCKING FEET AWAY!! That pretty much cost my team that round since they tried to come back and were promptly incapped by some other SI.

-Remember that part in the sugar mill right before the elevator in high water (or hard rain) with the big hole in the middle of the room? ALL the AI Surivors fell (dangling from the edge) into that hole trying to follow me to the opposite side. I was playing single player so, of course, a smoker grabbed me and the game was over!

-COUNTLESS times of them standing in fire/spitter goo and getting incapped leading ANOTHER AI survivor to IMMEDIATELY try to help becomming incapped as well in the process reducing a good chunk of my team to temporary 'red' health.

-COUNTLESS times when they've stolen my favourite (or upgraded) weapon because I needed to drop it for some reason or I was 'dead' with a buddy on the way with a defib to revive

This is without mentioning the fact that the survivor AI NOW doesn't do that teleport thing they did in L4D1, so if they fall off something that took FOREVER to climb, they have to walk ALL the goddamned way back and will likely get pounced or something causing the OTHER AI to run back...

Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but its friendly AI is pretty horrid; even compared to its predecessor!

EDIT: Grammar'd

I got a good feeling that a patch will end up balancing them out. A lot of the times I just play with my Brother and two AI teamates and I don't notice much of a diffrence between the two. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Yeah just about what he said.

Seems I have nothing else to say. Hmmm... Boobs.
I feel I have to say this since it is bugging me more than usual.

If all you have to say is essentially "this", [HEADING=1] THEN WHY POST?! [/HEADING]

It pisses me off so much when people just post that someone else has already said what you think.

OT : I feel the problem is worse in L4D2 not only bcause of the more Special Infected and harder campaigns, but the AI are less uber than L4D. In L4D they weren't exactly clever but they could snipe a Hunter a mile away with a shotgun and often whirled around and instantly headshotted the Infected. In this they are the opposite. They tend to stand around in front of me when I'm being hit by a Smoker/Hunter/Charger/Jockey for a few seconds of painful damage before suddenly remembering me and shooting the SI of me, or better yet, crawling towards me with a melee weapon for extra inconvenience.

Ugh, I've gotten into the "Smoker killing you, AI watching it like a snuff film" situation more times than I can count. Also shooting witches when half the team has already gotten past them. Coach (70 hp) intercepted a bottle of pills meant for a 20-health teammate and took them immediately. And with the way Jockeys are overpowered, one can expect to die the moment you hear that giggling, due to how thick the AI is.

Yeah, the AI downright sucks. They now seem to have to run all the way to you to melee you instead of just shooting the Specials off. And they seem to use up medkits pretty fast, plus, they can't use grenade-like items nor pills/adrenaline (As far as I know).

If you want to take in the environment, read the writings on the walls and maybe do the achievements in Dark Carnival, you should just set the difficulty to easy.
I can understand the whole AI not using grenades thing, especially with spread damage ones like molotovs - could be disastrous. But everything else is just rubbish, I actually ragekill the bots at some points, I just can't deal with them.
