When doing Realism- GET A FUCKING MIC!

It's damn near impossible for anyone to know where the hell you are and what's going on if you don't communicate, remember that we can't see you through walls!

And one tactic I've seen to alert other survivors to you when you're downed is to fire the pistol into the air, this seems to let the others know you're there.

How to Play:

You need
1. Gun or Melee
2. Fire Button (PC,360)

Step 1. Point Gun
Step 2. Fire
Step 3. Repeat 1+2
So you just stand still? That doesn't sound like a good way to win...
Well ya got to move and the special infected arent an issue since the AI partners have sniper scopes for eyes.....you know damn well what I am talking about....
The AI may have sniper scopes for eyes, but their priorities are all messed up. Do not rely on them.

Maybe here http://www.sanctuary4gamers.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=894:l4d2-melee-effectiveness-against-tanks-expert&catid=14:general-gaming&Itemid=80 AND GUESS WHAT!!! If you go to that link and read the chart. The tonfa, with 1 person, can take down a tank on expert in 6 seconds!!!

I've found that a good way to survive a horde rush is to hide inside a building, just to the side (NOT directly in front) of a doorway. The zombies have to actually get through the doorway before they can strike you, whilst you can pwn them before they enter. Win-win.

I see you consider Fallout 3 a far superior game.

What comes to L4D2: I often wonder why people leave stuff behind; adrenaline shots, pain pills and others, especially in situations where everyone has over +50 health points and are all filled with the 5th slot/other complementary slot item. People often consider adrenaline shots inferior to the pills and because of that, they leave a shot just laying there just because they already had a dose of pills.

The tip following this is that you probably should take every extra item, use it and take whatever you had before using it back. It might help you, and the best case scenario would be it saving you instead of just lying on the ground. In the first situation the boost is not that much, but it is greater than just leaving them on the ground.

Don't leave extra stuff around.

melee:

The big new addition to L4D2 is the inclusion of melee combat. Ranging from frying pans to the mighty chainsaw, there are many advantages to getting close up and personal with the zombies, but first off you'll want to take a few pointers. To begin, whatever the weapon, aim high, especially with the lower-tier weapons such as frying pans and guitars.
Lower-tier?
All the melee weapons kill in one hit... not counting the special infected.
True, but some melee weapons have different speeds. Generally, I find katana, baseball bat, cricket bat, machette to be the faster, better weapons, while the guitar, tonfa and frying pan are slower and thus less effective, because they all seem to do the same damage. Naturally the chainsaw is the best, but numerous times its ran out of fuel and left me with a single pistol, an no melee weapons in sight, so its a bit of a risk.

in the hard rain campaign look for a granade launcher, you are going to need it to kill all the witches.

the last thing u want is the grenade launcher lol. either look out for their red glow, and avoid them, or someone who knows how to use a shotgun to crown, its really not hard, takes 1-3 shots in the head to take her down, just rapid fire, dont pause after 1 shot, just to make sure shes down
