I don't really care that the gore gets toned down. If I'm actually able to play the game then I'm ecstatic. As long as they don't make the infected bleed rainbows and the guns shoot candy anyway.
...That'd be awesome.

OT- It's not L4D2 without dismemberment! Damnit.

Boomer's Thoughts: Zombie eat brains, but zombie no stomach injustice. (Hears news of un-banning) Zombie happy, but zombie unable to show facial emotion. Please excuse, me need to get antacid.

yay i get to see yahtzees review of it? other than that...indifferent
...Why would he do that?

More importantly, why would you want to see that happen? You know what he thinks of the vast majority of FPSes, and what he thinks about online multiplayer. Put the two together, possibly remove some bile because Yahtzee at least vaguely trusts VALVe and you'd have your review. Remember that the bile is what makes the reviews good.

I hope he reviews games where I don't already know what he'll say.

We will have the edited, watered down version of the game unless the Office of Film and Literature Classification decides the game is fit for distribution as an un-edited release.
So if it is edited the game won't have decapitation, limb destruction and won't have gut splillage.
If I were to buy this game on release at this moment i'd import it from New Zealand or Hong Kong.
Cautious optimism for us Aussies until everything is allowed.

Sorry..I just enjoy watching his reviews and when I heard that it was banned in Australia, that was the first thing that came to mind "I wont be seeing his l4d2 review now".

Since you already know how his review is going to play out. I think you should tell us, so when he does review it in November we can compare the two and see how right you are!

L4D2 is no longer banned in Australia. How does this make you feel?
It makes perfect sense.
They let dead space, fallout 3 and fear 2 without a change to the violence content and yet they tried pinning it on Left4Dead2? The OFLC are a bunch of children who as I said make their decisions based on darts thrown at a board with post-it note ideas on it.
On topic: Didn't really bother me as I'd already preordered it off Steam and they were than happy to sell it to me regardless of being in Au.
Good to see it's been passed through, but it doesn't change the fact that Atkinson's a right-winged tosser.

Wait....the Escapist did a news article on this like a week ago, I actually recieved a letter from the government saying that we are getting it. We find out this Thursday if we are getting the full version.

That means the trolls win.

It's pretty lame that Valve had to make it more child friendly for them. I mean, they could at least have lightened up a bit. But it means that the Australians get the game after all.

Ugh, I was going to get it off Steam anyway. I don't want an edited version. T_T
Import it.
No, Steam is an American service, so I'd still get the full game ^.^
You would still get the edited version, if you have an Australian account or Australian IP address steam will pick up on it and you will get the edited version of it.

but i dont see whats wrong with making a new American Steam account and getting it that way lol

As glad as I am that we're going to get this game, I personally think that an ideal solution to all this bull would have been for Valve to go "Oh, well. Guess Australia misses out." Although they wouldn't be particularly popular with us Aussie's over this, if it were to happen more than a few times with different games and companies, the resulting outcry might actually attract enough attention for the R18 situation to be resolved. At the moment, because every banned game so far has found a way into Australia one way or another (mostly through edited versions) it has been more of a minor annoyance than a serious issue and therefore is deemed too unimportant by the powers that be to really bother reviewing.

Then you should be pissed. No decaps or bodies lying on the maps for us.
That sucks. Fallout 3 is just as violent and only gets a ban because of reference to a real-life drug

Well, if I'm lucky, by preordering from Steam, I might get the worldwide version, but I'm not holding my breath.
Also, the OFLC are just a bunch of children. They need to grow the hell up, realize the demographic of videogamers is aged 22-34 mainly and give us an R18+ rating.

Yes, it would have been good. I doubt we'll ever be taken sriously though.

Score one for the Australian gaming market. Now this means Yahtzee doesn't need to get an imported copy to review!

Now i'll have to get it imported. It would of been much easier for an uncensored retail version.
