Well they are late 1940s cars, those things were giant death bricks of metal that handled like cows on an Ice rink
At least they're more fun to drive than those big boulders of steel in Mafia 2 :D

Somehow, I have developed this weird ability to just know when it is that a thread has been created by you. I entered this one with a suspicion that it might be, as well as several others in the past. Strange...
Maybe I get frustrated a lot :D Or maybe it's something in the phrasing. Or maybe you're psychic and can read minds, in which case you would probably be pretty good at LA noire!
Well, the last option certainly seems fully reasonable and completely plausible, so lets go with that! Now I can spend the rest of my life making poor decisions and judgments based on my belief that I am psychic.

[sub]But seriously, it probably has to do with the 'phrasing' option you gave.[/sub]

Only thing that really bothers me is when my character, a detective mind you, picks up a diary and says,"Hmm, this is probably nothing." A detective would at least see what is written in it right?
I know right. I wish they'd turn it into an unskippable cutscene where you read through the entire diary and then determine it's probably nothing.

Did you really need need to be so sarcastic and demeaning to him? Sad.

The way the game's mechanics run anyway, it always skips to the relevant page when Cole opens a book. That's all they would have had to do. It looks silly when he just puts things down without checking properly.

But hey, you probably have some sarcastic response to me too.

Cole: *Soft voice* Ma'am, I understand that this is hard for you, but did you hear anything last night?

Woman: I'm sorry, I didn't...*very slight shifty eyes*

*Selects doubt, thinking that Cole will ask something like 'Are you sure?'

Cole: OH COME ON! AN OLD HAG LIKE YOU HAS TO HEAR EVERYTHING THAT GOES ON IN THIS JOINT!

Me:...Oh God, Cole. WHY?! Well, I've failed this question...

Woman: OKAY, OKAY! I heard something outside of the window on the second floor, but I think it was just a raccoon or something.

Cole: Thank you for your help, Ma'am.

Woman: Oh, you're very welcome.

Question Correct!

Me: ...What. The. Fuck.

This made me just drop the game. It was only the first interrogation where you're talking to the guy who ran after you came to see him about the murder of a person he was recently arguing with.

He said he had nothing to do with the murder. I said he was lying and chose THE MURDER WEAPON THAT HE OWNED as evidence.

It gave me a little "Incorrect". So I restarted the mission and decided "screw it, I'm not sitting through all this again", because it was a LONG way back to that one scene.

Haven't booted it up since.
Agreed. It's total BS. Logic from the Silent Hill 1 retardo-puzzle days.

Funny how none of the reviews point out this huge fundamental flaw in the game.
Even though its developed by Bondi, most see it as a Rockstar game. And criticising that can generally lead others to accusing you of attention seeking.

I imagine its part of the reason why the generally not-very-good GTA IV hardly dropped a single mark.

Watch your mouth. The game has issues - but the driving is wonderful. NO EXCEPTIONS!

I personally haven't had any of those issues, having played the game in entire 20 hour binge...which was awesome; pizza and pepsi for the win.

Anyways, when it comes down to it, the only problem I had was the doubt option sometimes elevating more than I expected it to, as mentioned by others before; at the end of the case though; if I fail a Lie check I end up seeing what I did wrong and what I missed. I never restarted either, I wanted to get a feel of what it was like.

Still pissed I missed one of the Newspapers though

Mafia 2? Hehe, I had a few issues with that one too. But then again, I have issues with most games I play (only one I can think of recently that I didn't get annoyed with at some point was Dead Space 2, which was, in my eyes, pretty much perfect)

The thing that bugged me in Mafia 2 was the damn cops and how they would give chase if someone else so much as grazed off your car. Dropped it to easy for my second playthrough though and it's more fun this way.

Hmm... Bummer.

Oh well, I'm borrowing it free of charge in a bit so I can't complain.

It's not a "Flaw in the game." Your choices have consequences. You can either live with your wrong decision or you can CHEAT and restart the mission. And your punishment for that is that you have to do the whole thing over again.

The game does not end if you screw up. You live with the consequences of your decisions. Like real life cops.
Maybe you should read the OP before commenting. I'm not talking about times the player screws up, I'm talking about times that the game's logic makes no sense.
Christ, I'm tired of explaining this. I DID read your comment. The lying mechanic in LA Noire is HARDCORE. You have to catch them dead in a lie, and you're not allowed to make logical leaps. I did the same mistake you did with that guy and his gun and then realized I was wrong; just because his gun was used in the shooting doesn't mean he did it.

Maybe you should read the OP post, He owned the gun, the gunstore manager confirmed this, yet, its not considered a correct answer. Which is really stupid.
I made the same mistake the OP did. Just because he owned the gun doesn't not prove that he shot the man.
Beyond reasonable doubt? The gun was at the scene, he was confirmed at the scene, its already obvious that the gun was used.

Maybe I just suck at this game.
There's plenty of explanations. The woman was lying about him being there. Someone stole his gun to frame him.

Maybe the woman stole his gun, shot her boss, then lied to frame the man.

The point is that the eyewitness testimony and the gun belonging to that man don't definitively prove that he shot the man. It's definitely overwhelming evidence, but as I just demonstrated, there are other plausible scenarios that would account for their existence that don't end in him being the murderer.
I haven't had the chance to play the game yet, and judging by the majority of posts on here, there are issues with it, but that it can spark an argument like the one above surely proves that the game's doing something right? I mean, you don't get many games that provoke this sort of pseudo-law-speak.

My only problem is the driving. I fucking fly all over the road in my car.
Ha, yeah the driving is very strange... the tiniest thumb movement sends you swerving off to the left or right. Takes a bit of getting used to for sure.
That and the braking(spelling fails for the win). I enjoy reaching top speed quick, but then I fear for my life when it takes forever to actually stop the car and I manage to ram into 3 other cars while doing it. That warranted a restart.
This is just my opinion, but I think the driving in this game is alot better than it is in GTA4. Seriously, the driving in there was like a bad joke that never ended.

OT: Cole is inconsistent, isn't he? He's trying to play good cop and bad cop simultaneously, and it comes out as just plain weird.

Also, I've found that, if you wait long enough on a question, the incorrect answers will eliminate themselves. This happen to anyone else?
