i hate the evidence that doesnt work. also, there is no way of knowing what they know to tell if they're lying. on the first traffic cop mission i was interviewing the wife, and had evidence contradicting what she said, which is how to tell if it's a lie. she didnt know that, was telling the truth and got pissed off at me.

It gave me a little "Incorrect". So I restarted the mission and decided "screw it, I'm not sitting through all this again", because it was a LONG way back to that one scene.

Haven't booted it up since.
if you get one incorrect you leave then restart the interview. but that is a ***** when it happens.

2. Evidence is inconsistent. There have been 3 or 4 occasions when a piece of evidence I found clearly incriminated someone and proved they were lying, but because it wasn't the one magic piece the game chose as the 'right' evidence, I failed the question. BS.
Had that one on multiple occasions but that was really the only thing that annoyed me about them.

Other things that annoyed me was that some objects you picked up near a crime scene was considered irrelevant to the case yet in reality it would have been taken as evidence. For example in the first case on the homicide desk. So you have this dead woman who has been beaten to a bloody pulp with some type of blunt object.

While going over the scene I found a golf club half hidden in a bush about 10 ft away from the body, when I picked it up to inspect it Cole says "this doesn't seem relevant." and I was just sitting thinking "what the fuck?". In reality it would have been considered that it could be the murder weapon.

But I just completed the game about an hour ago and thought it was fantastic.

OH MY GOD!!!

This thread totally ruined this game for me..

I for ages was really excited for LA Noire, but after reading this, im not so sure i want it at all.. These are some major game flaws mentioned here.. Game flaws that really takes the piss out of you..

ARRRGH...
I'm also worried. Could someone answer this for me? Are the problems bad enough that you wouldn't recommend the game to someone else? I've waited for this game for a long time, but if it is that bad...

I mean, I played Phoenix Wright: And Justice for All and experienced a similar problem. Overall I enjoyed the game, but it was very frustrating at times.

So what is the general consensus here? Buy or skip?
Please, don't get the wrong idea here. The game is incredible, and a lot of people have said so. I can't guarantee that you'll like it (I couldn't guarantee that with anything), but none of the flaws ever became bothersome enough that I wasn't greatly enjoying what I was doing.

It has some of the same problems as Phoenix Wright but, in my opinion, not quite as bad. It was rare for me to ever feel cheated into making a mistake (though it did happen), but even when it does happen instead of making you do it again the case evolves around where you went wrong. You're almost never forced to repeat anything, and if you do you will only be hampering your own enjoyment of the game.

As for unskippable cut-scenes I never even noticed that, because I never once felt the need to skip one. Maybe on my second playthrough it might become a problem, but I doubt it. The movies are all interesting and kind of necessary for the plot.

I'd say it's a definite buy, I bought it new and it's so good that I'm actually regretting not pre-ordering it, because I would love to have one more case to play through right now...

I have to agree with you. Its a good game, but its flaws hinder it from being my "Game of the Year".
((Fake scenario based off the games reactions))
Suspect: "I didnt kill my wife! I was at home doing the laundry!"
*Chooses doubt based on the fact his sister said she called his home and no answer*
Cole: "YOU STABBED HER 44 TIME IN THE TITS AND THEN FED HER BODY TO DOGS! I bet you even sexually abuse your daughter on Sundays instead of taking her to church you SICK F*CK!"
*Correct answer*
Suspect: "Alright.... i wasnt home. I was at the bar getting hammered with my girlfriend."
*End of interrogation*
Cole: "Thank you Mr. Morterwikenshireson! :D i look forward to hearing from you in the future."

I like the game. Its challenging, and you dont always see things coming. ((somethings you see like a brick wall and cant avoid it)) And it doesnt hold your hand, like a good game should.

But it also shouldn't slap your hand, tell you your wrong, and call you a failure at your life's dream of being a detective.
