I wonder what the message was that she was trying to put across...
Not anymore anyway.superbleeder12 said:I dislike bands who focus too much on their image (A7X, Slipknot, Gwar, etc) I mean its music for christs sake, nobody cares what you look like.
Well, i don't know about A7X, I mean I guess they do kinda dress the same.4thegreatergood said:Not anymore anyway.superbleeder12 said:I dislike bands who focus too much on their image (A7X, Slipknot, Gwar, etc) I mean its music for christs sake, nobody cares what you look like.

Slipknot has those masks for some reason. I guess its just a MO for them
I used to like Slipknot but their continual inclusion of lyrical melodies became asesthetically innapropriate, structurally formulaic (ie.. sing songy chorus, growl the rest of the song), and it revealed the juvenile nature of their writing abilities.superbleeder12 said:I dislike bands who focus too much on their image (A7X, Slipknot, Gwar, etc) I mean its music for christs sake, nobody cares what you look like.
Hey! I did not type that!BallPtPenTheif said:I used to like Slipknot but their continual inclusion of lyrical melodies became asesthetically innapropriate, structurally formulaic (ie.. sing songy chorus, growl the rest of the song), and it revealed the juvenile nature of their writing abilities.4thegreatergood said:I dislike bands who focus too much on their image (A7X, Slipknot, Gwar, etc) I mean its music for christs sake, nobody cares what you look like.
There are also many bands who can do a lot more with a lot less instruments and without the pretension of rubber masks while always posturing like you're a badass.
I don't know, I mean Little Wayne's usage of literary devices is pretty impressive. If he swapped out the slang and curse words it would make most English teachers swoon.blackcherry said:Hate? Too strong a word, but I do dislike specifically American mainstream rappers from 2000 onwards. Its almost as if they gave up after realising their social commentary was falling on dumb idiots ears.
If you're going to quote, do it correctly, we dont need anyone pissed off because you made a mistake quoting.4thegreatergood said:Hey! Totally. Now a days the term is actually a coded marketing term which implies "black pop music". At least that's how the record industry uses it.LewsTherin said:There is no Blues in R&B today.

Techno ; ) Wait! Save the puppy : )Zac_Dai said:How come its only the people who like Rock that can't stand other genres?
Also if someone calls the entire Electronic music scene "Techno" again I'll kill a puppy.
I've just gotten used to it and calmly let them listen to whatever they like. The reason that certain bands are associated with the genre is that they tend to be entry points into them, and as such are the easiest things to use when trying to get into a scene.E-hannon said:Not to piss off anyone else, but I really hate when people reduce a genre to one band.
I think its because everything else is just way too different.Zac_Dai said:How come its only the people who like Rock that can't stand other genres?
