The funny thing is, depending on what industry studies you read, somewhere between 30 to 40% of the players of AAA games and MMOs are women. "What?" I hear you cry. "It's got to be like 10%, maybe." Sure. On voice. My wife gamed for her entire life, and she never ever voiced. Heck, she rarely played female characters. When she did, she got swamped with date requests. But she wasn't a teen girl, and had reached the point in life where that sort of thing is more amusing than annoying.
So, is it a problem? Yeah. Will it go away? Unless we ban immature males from videogames (insert joke here), probably not.
