Lan Party gaming suggestions!!

Im going to be the only one in my house for two weeks at the start of the next month and for one of those days I want to get a few of my buddies together for a day of (more social ) pc gaming... and alchohol!

So was just wondering what the escapees thought would be good games to play as such an event is rare. We want to play mainly older games and so far unreal tournament and age of empires 2 has made the list... and maybe dungeon keeper 2.

So any awesome multiplayer oldies come to mind that we can hop straight into?

Also Doom with Jdoom is fun as hell. And lastly I'd suggest NWN or Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale Those are fun multi if you're into that sort of thing.

CounterStrike (source is all I got so that's what we play at LANs), Halo PC, Armagetron, CoD4 PC if you have it. We have also played Age of Empires II and Soldat.

Try Soldat, it's free and good fun at a LAN. And now that I think of it, Tribes Vengeance. Try that too.

Rise of Nations
Any Battlefield game, especially the mode where you play against computer bots. That's amazing fun, just put tonnes of them in. Used to do this with 1942 and Vietnam.
Age of Empires 2 was good too.
Warcraft 3 and Starcraft are classics too and perfect for LAN.
Red Alert 2 as well.

Quake live is a good choice. Not only is it a fun game, it's free to play online.

Doom, red alert 2 Are definetly getting played. Maybe Soldat too. I wish i could get them to play baldurs gate or nvn but thats not their cup of tea .. even diablos a bit too much for them lol

Sins of a Solar Empire - seriously, check out the license agreement, I forget how many times you can install it, but they included a LAN party provision to ease things a bit. Plus, its a helluva lot of fun
