laptop and tablet

sorry for just constantly asking for advice on buying stuff but I'm the sorta guy that does 50 hours of research and then procrastinates so long items go obsolete.

I'm going on holidays and I'm looking for a laptop or tablet to take along with me, I might just buy a cheap tablet either way but the laptop may make it obsolete.
basically after the usual stuff. Large screen good battery life and high performance for decent cost.
I don't need to know every product on the market but if you have bought or researched something lately and found a decent deal let me know so I have somewhat of a decent jumping off point to start my search.
