Hi

I'm looking to get myself a laptop, and am in dire need of advice on what specs to look for to maximise longevity of use vs. cost.

Use: It'll mostly be used for web browsing/ flash videos, music, watching movies/ TV, office, maybe some CAD drawing, and probably older games. Gaming wise my main criteria is that it be comfortable running dolphin and maybe a ps2 emulator aswell, since I still have a number of gamecube and ps2 games I never finished. It'd be a bonus if it could run wii games as well. I guess if it's not asking too much: running Skyrim on medium would make me pretty happy.

I'll probably be saving quite a lot of media files on there (mostly video, game saves), so advice on hard drive size would be good.

Any brands to avoid due to poor life span, and overheating problems, poor physical durablity?

What kind of graphics card should I be looking for?

Good battery life is high on my list too.

I'd like a screen with good colour definition, preferably not too reflective.

Budget wise I'd like to stay under £300.00 if I can. I can go a little higher if it's going to last me a lot longer.

Recommendations for well priced sellers; and simple laptop buying guides would be awesome too.

Thanks :)

Thanks for the recommendation. That's a bit out of my price range. Got any idea of the specs I need to look for to be able to run what I'm suggesting?
