Stripped of looks? I think she looks better than she ever did before. Like an actual human being.Squallie Greenthumb said:exactly and i never said it wan't going to be an interesting game. all i was saying that with this trailer all the old Lara hating women's groups that the game's creators may or may not be trying to appease with this new image are going to see it the way i said, stripped of looks and stripped of strengths. remember nobody who fights video games plays video games. they're not gonna care if by the end of it Lara can destroy a mountain with her fist. all they know is what they can nitpick from the commercials.
the bra strap's probably gonna cause some shit as well.
As far as I know she already had daddy issues, no?Goldeneye103X2 said:I know, right. I will actually applaud crystal dynamics if they can develop Lara without, you know, not developing her at all (if that makes any sense). I want to see how they'll make a decent story without any other characters. Well, some others might pop up at some point, but Im not counting on it.L34dP1LL said:Well, hopefully they wont go all "Other M" on this heroine, and really make a good game out of it.
Well...Scrythe said:First impressions:
1) So it this a reboot?
2) Are they throwing out her aristocratic origins?
3) Why are there only two fucking colors in this game?
4) This looks like a movie. I have the feeling it's going to be cutscene-heavy. Think MGS4.
5) Eh, at least it's not Angel of Darkness.
Now that I think about it she does, and I'm hoping that it will be a good thing. Lara never really appealed to me, but maybe this version of her will.lacktheknack said:I. AM. SOOOOOOOOO. STOKED.
You know who this version of Lara Croft reminds me of? Heather Mason (especially the bit where she bandages her arm.) If she keeps reminding me of Heather Mason, she could end up being one of my favorite characters ever (Heather Mason herself had reactions too tranquil and bizarre to endear her to me entirely).
Mirror's Edge succeeded resoundingly, actually.A-D. said:The Question for me is, how far they are going to take realism. because i didnt enjoy the games because they were overly realistic. Hell lets just look at the Heroine and what she can do. I preferred the whole..well jumping around, crawling up a wall and such. Basicly the "Parkour Approach". Kinda what Mirrors Edge tried and failed to do.
So yeah, while the Reboot has promise, at least as far as we know for now, it can still turn to shit very quickly depending on where they go with it. I like the Idea of a "Well thats where she started". Even in the first Tomb Raider she was already what, 30? 40? Far older anyway. Here's me hoping they dont go "we all serious now" with it.
