Blackmore's Night - Secret Voyage
This one is just beautiful. My favourite song on this is "The Circle"
You have no idea how happy this makes me to know that someone else other than me gave this album a shout-out. This album (hell, everything Blackmore's Night does) is a work of pure magnificence. I know I've single-handedly roped in at least a dozen new fans in my area just by handing out this album.

I would say D+Sect by Moi Dix Mois but I haven't heard everything off of it yet. Based on their track record though, I think I'll keep that as my official answer. Before D+Sect though, I think Heaven and Hell by Sabbath.

Jeff Loomis - Zero Order Phase. That album made him into my new favouritestestst instrumental guitar player. Far above Vai and Gilbert.

Others include:

The Formation of Damnation by Testament. Every single song is pure, compressed, fucking, win.

Slipknot's All Hope Is Gone qualifies, as the only songs I didn't like were the extra ones I had to find elsewhere.

Megadeth's Endgame was so awesome.

Meshuggah's Obzen for sure. Every song on that album basically puts me in a trance of awesome.

Now for some non-metal...

Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon and The Wall. Animals comes close.

I dug pretty much every track on Gary Moore's album whose title I forget. First song was called If The Devil Made Whiskey. Very likely that's the album title too. Great album that one.

Soundgarden - Superunkown is another classic that I never fail to enjoy all the way through. Lights out, headphones on, chilled out.

Oh an, um... um... the soundtrack to Repo! The Genetic Opera. >.>

Reise, Reise - Rammstein
Back In Blood - The 69 Eyes

Two great albums, especially Back In Blood. I can listen to it over and over and it doesn't get old.

London Calling by the Clash

or More Real Folk Blues by John Lee Hooker

I couldn't choose between those two.

Something for Everybody by Devo. Why more people don't show more love for Devo on this site I have no idea. Probably because Whip It is the only track anyone has heard!

The Damned Things - Ironiclast
Every song is a work of art. Keith Buckley was born a poet, his lyrics are fantastic. They are the best superband I've ever heard, better than Them Crooked Vultures

The Hairminator

How about no?

Last one was probably A view from the end of the world- Machinae Supremacy
I was positively suprised they had not lost their touch.

I agree with Back in Blood, truly awesome album. It wasn't my most recent one, however.

Ironically- Reise, Reise was probably the Rammstein album I enjoyed the least. Maybe I should give it another shot.

Sooooo many. Honestly. It's worth the Metal greats taking a year or two to release an album, often times they are amazing. Most recent? I don't know... Maybe Wrath from Lamb Of God, but there's probably a more recent one I can't think of cause I'm tired.
Actually, The Wicked Symphony by Avantasia. Every song is amazing, and so much talent in that album. They have like 12 guest musicians. Including Jorn lande, Ripper Owens and Russel Allen. Not to mention the band themselves are very talented.

It is indeed a beautiful album. The epitomisation of Thrash metal in my opinion.

Usually, there is always one or two songs that just do not work for me.
So, for me, that meta-status of being absolutely perfect has only been attained by two albums:

Opeth - Watershed

Blind Guardian - A Night at the Opera

The latest runners up, just out of my head ,include:
- The Protomen - Act II: The Father of Death
- Dream Theater - Black Clouds & Silver Linings
- Mr Bungle - California
- The Gorillaz - Demon Days
- Maudlin of the Well - Part, The Second

Holy shit yes. I just got it for my birthday a few weeks ago and I haven't stopped listening to it. 'Empire Ants' is just downright freakin' awesome.

I can't remember off the top of my head which came out most recently, but I'm going to go with Opeth - Watershed and Porcupine Tree - The Incident.

I recently acquired Russian Circles' Enter, and it is a masterpiece from start to finish.

Warp Riders by The Sword qualifies too.
