@thundero: 1) I'm not listening to ABBA... ever... personal grudge I have after being forced to listen to them during hour-and-a-half long drives...
2) that didnt explain anything, but so does this! [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1dvSlvZLG8]
3) do I have to?
1) D= You also said you'd never read poetry but then you did...
2) ...Wat?
3) BRAEBURN IS DAMN SEXY! And you do have to know what I mean, but you really should already...
*headdesk* First of all, ABBA is awesome and I don't see why you're dissing them so much, second of all, the song is about the lead singer who, because of her career and stuff, is unable to spend any time with her daughter, the two become more and more alienated and as her daughter gets older she 'slips through her fingers' more and more, it's a very sad song just take my word for it, especially if you can relate...
@thundero: they can be good at their genre, but it doesnt mean I'd enjoy listening to it anymore then the average person would enjoy listening to a great death-metal band...
and I still have no idea why you said that you're sad, so if anything is wrong I'd be more then happy to listen and try to help...

The average person loves death metal, so that mans you would love it...
And I am sad because I am listening to a sad song and it's making me sad and it's making me think back to my childhood, it's not always that I have some problem with my own life ya know
@steeple: I see...
btw, i've realised that I guess I can show you with a similiar but non-ABBA song: Except that it does it a more sad angle with her worrying about her daughter and how she'll grow up and such, also her daughter doesn't look up to her so much...
Cats in the Cradle is nothing like ABBA...
<spoiler=THOUGHTS ON YOUR SONG AS I LISTEN>This is certainly too loud to be sad
Ok I get it she cries
That sucks, now speak quieter pls
You sure do like to go on about her, whoever she is
...I'm sorry, what are you saying? In my foot?
Ok, back to this woman...
Back to talking about your foot I see...
Bloody hell, there's more to life then this ***** and your foot ya know, YEESH!
Ok, well that was certainly a sad thing to say but you don't exactly sound sad
OH GOD THAT GUITAR PLAYED A BAD CHORD!
This song had better have more lyrics from here to the end then just "My foot"
...
Guess not...
Well that certainly wasn't sad in the slightest
@brue: it's a well known fact that melancholy brings out the most creative spirits...
@thundero: you're probably right, but it doesnt change the fact that both genres arent exactly what I enjoy (and I view myself as one who enjoys a wide variety of music...)
@Bruenin: Because a song was making me really sad but steeple wouldn't listen because it was ABBA so I tried to compare it with another song which he also didn't listen to (or just didn't like, I ain't sure), and then he decided to post a song about a guy who stubbed his toe but really, there are sadder things then stubbing your toe, though I will admit it hurts like a ************
...
A motherfucking who just jumped on your toe
@steeple: I like most music, heavy metal's the only one I can't get into I think, but I can't see myself being sad about a rock song becuase... yeah, it just doesn't sound sad...
@thundero: now hang on a minute, I tried listening to it, but after 3 seconds my mind began it's defense sequence and forced my to shut off the song... not my fault!
and you're saying my song is about a pain in the toe? because it's not just a toe!
[sub][sub]it's was also the index-finger...[/sub][/sub]
EDIT: well, I love heavy metal (used to listen to it exclusively before I started listening to rock), and I'd disagree with you that rock cant invoke sadness... just need the right song (and I've got plenty)
@steeple: Don' worry about it mate, and i'm sure that song was sad, a stubbed though is very painful, I just get sadder when listening to a song about a woman who isn't around her daughter long enough to develop a lasting connection with her because her career drives her away...
