But here is the strange thing, If I plan to be the worst I can be then when I do become the bottom of the pile I am actually a winner because I achieved my goal of being the worst. This is so confusing!!!

Nah, even if you are a winner by your own standards, you would still objectively be a loser if you're at the bottom of the pile. See, we're judging this by how the world sees you, not by the way you see yourself. XD
