Late late night posting, why do you do it?

My mother's in such pain from knee surgery that I pretty much have to be at her side all the time right now, even into the early morning if she can't sleep.
Both our sleep schedules are pretty messed up from this, but I still like to take some time before I sleep to have some time to myself to draw or paint.
And I'll parouse the 'Scapist a bit too, to keep me from going into the magic painting trance that makes me go, "O hai, afternoon. I didn't notice you all morning 'cause I was too busy doing art for like, seven hours."

I post late at night when I can't sleep. I can probably spend all night on here and still wake up at 8 in the morning. I don't really require that much sleep.

I am currently on a medication that messes with my sleep. I goto sleep around 12:00pm cst and wake up around 8pm cst.

Strange I know.

Well, I often get quoted by people arguing with me (or sometimes agreeing, but there's not really any way to respond to those). If I didn't respond shortly after the post, the person may think I've given up, maybe even accepted their point of view. They may think they are correct, or that their points were completely valid, and that I was unable to think of counter-arguments.

If try to sleep I'll see them sat there, with a smug look on their face, mocking me in the night while I try to force myself to drift off...

Force myself to just forget about the points I was going to make...

Force myself to let them win...

...

This is not acceptable to me.

I am, as of right now, technically, a 'housewife'. It's been a pain to find a job around here, and to find a job in the city an hour away wouldn't be worth the commute (or the price of commute). But my Husband is on a night schedule for work, and I am pretty much on whatever schedule he happens to be on. It just makes things easier. So a majority of my posts tend to be late at night,...when I actually start my day =]p.
