Its 3:51am here on the west coast, and I'm eating a large bowl of coleslaw. This is by no means what I normally would eat for a late night snack, but here I am eating it. Normally I would have a sandwich, but due to a lack of bread, it wasn't possible to make a sandwich at this time. I think that the strangest thing I've ever made for a late night snack was I made a whole 4 pound pot roast, mashed potatos, and gravy. Of course I didn't eat all or even most of it.

So what do you normally eat as a late night snack, and what is the strangest thing you've ever gotten or made?

Hummus on bread, fuck yeah.

Strangest? I dunno, probably two pieces of cod.

A chilli sauce sandwich.

Nothing else, just bread and chillies. And none of that sweet sugar stuff, just real HOT chilli.

Ed130's post just reminded me about something that I used to eat as a child. Mayonnaise sandwiches. All it was was two pieces of bread with copious amounts of mayonnaise on it. I don't eat mayonnaise much any more, so it just makes me a little sick knowing I used to eat it like that.

Actually, my regular late night snack is a delicious, juicy Granny Smith apple.
In the unlikely event I run out, I make myself a sandwich. Om nom nom.

Strangest midnight snack I've ever had? Well, I've been told I used to cook a lot of disgusting stuff in the middle of the night when I was ripped off my ass, but from what I can personally remember... I don't know, strawberry jello, perhaps?

Normally, I'd just chomp on some crackers... maybe with peanut butter...

The weirdest choice for late night snack was pasta with bacon, mushrooms & pesto. The pesto was hand made, wooden pestle and stone mortar and all, spending about forty-five minutes grounding pine nuts and garlic...

Normally I eat fruit or a couple of sandwiches.
Don't really remember any strange things I've eaten, but I sort of recall doing some very odd sandwiches with a friend after a party. We took whatever we found, put it in a pan and then on the roasted bread. Think I should be glad my tastebuds were long gone due to the alcohol.

Who knows ... the truly wierd stuff has disappeared in a haze of alcohol. But I'm rarely ripped enough for my higher functions to authorise the rest of me to try making anything particularly complex or that requires any more danger than boiling a kettle or turning on the smallest hob.

However, cheap ramen-style noodles + a fair amount of chinese curry concentrate (the solid block stuff) + a decent smattering of frozen or tinned veg + extra spice-adding things if you have them = EVERYTHING A BODY NEEDS GRAAAGHGHGLLLENOMNOMNOM

The strangest late-evening cocktail, now there's another thing. I recently discovered the comic "Johnny Wander". Go back a couple pages in their archive, and there's the "Ecto Cooler Smoothie".
It's pretty god damn amazing let me tell you what, everyone at the BBQ (at least, everyone who'd already had a couple drinks and couldn't stop saying "put more vodka in it!") thought the same, and that's without even frozen concentrate being available in my country (currently trying to make my own).

Bit messy though. Kinda thing you only really dare attempt when you've had a few.

Strangest midnight snack? Well, me and my roommates were bored and hadn't eaten dinner due to a long gaming session. So, we ran over to the supermarket (at 3am, mind), bought two frozen pizzas, four pounds of ground beef, a pound of ground pork, onions, pepper jack cheese, etc, brought it all back and made a pizza burger. We cooked the two pizzas, formed the meat in to a giant patty that we threw on the grill, and when it was all done we stuck the burger between the two cooked pizzas and sliced it up.

Have to say, it wasn't the best thing I've ever had. Good, but not good enough to try it again.

Well, normally I try not to eat late at night. However, now it's summer so night has become my "daytime".

Favorite: A sunny-side up egg placed between two halves of a mini-bagel. It just the right size...

Oddest: Can't think of anything too weird. Perhaps...nah I'm really drawing a blank here.

I don't eat much after 2100 but I do sleepwalk and grab things.
I woke up with a plate of mashed potatoes and chopsticks and a steak knife to eat it with. That was interesting!
But I do enjoy peanut butter jelly and cheese!
