Late to L4D

Here's the situation: I didn't bother subscribing to Xbox Live after the free initial period ran out right after I bought my 360, but I've been thinking about getting maybe a 6-month subscription once my study-abroad stint ends in December. I've wanted Left 4 Dead for a while now, and it's probably the top multiplayer game I want. But there's one thing that's been bothering me.

Except for when I played CS: Source back in high school, I'm sort of out of the loop with online games. If I get L4D in December, is it safe to say that there's going to be a sizeable amount of people still playing it for the next couple of years?

In fact Left 4 Dead 2 will be out a month before you intend to get Left 4 Dead.

i'd say yes, i'll definitely try and keep playing it. there are still plenty of halo: ce players out there, so if that's any indicator there should be no problem

Like... next month soon. Save your money, wait a month and get all of L4D1 and all of L4D2 for the same price.

Yeah, the thing is I'm a cheap bastard. The other thing is for some reason I completely forgot about L4D2 when I made that post. Needless to say I'm facepalming myself right now.

Alot of people will migrate over to L4D2, but I know i'll still be playing the first one

Im still going to play my copy of L4D. I doubt I will have done all the achievements but to me it's the equivalent of a party game like Guitar Hero is for the wannabes..Anyone can pickup the controller,have the first cutscene tell them what's going on and that they have to get from Point A to Point B through sometimes crowded/small areas populated with fast zombies and there are super Zombies that can get you with their tongue from up to 100 feet away or zombies that puke on you and attract a sh*tload more onto you..

Its a fun game.

GEt it on PC. Can get so many amazing mods and extra campaigns for l4d. seriously xbox live sucks for that sort of thing. We just got a free campaign from valve the other day.

If you have a computer capable of play CS:S then get the cheap, better PC version of the game. User created content accounts for most of that which is worth looking at it. Even without taking my hatred of the xbox live service into account the PC version is so far ahead it might as well be a completely different game.

THINK?!?!?!?!? Haven't done this in a while, I'm a bit rusty. Give me a week (Or till holidays end) and I should be up and running at 100%
