I while ago I got a perfect score for my argumentative piece in English class to do with the controversy in violent video games causing violence in real life...

Let's see if I can do it once again but for a persuasive piece, meaning instead of giving statements from both sides of the argument I'm going to have it completely in favour for video games not causing violence, whilst still being unbiased mind you.

In other news, playing Left 4 Dead is making me want to go outside and shoot some zombies. Oh wait, I don't like going outside.

Starcraft?

How can you want to kill anyone with music as mellow as this

The media's really reaching I think. It's a strategy game.
Or music as epic as this.

This is not commit heinous crimes-music, this is the music that would play over footage of Mr T wrestling a lion.

I love the correlation between Anderson and the guy from the Mobius Foundation. If anything they should be related.

Wish I could join in the "I've been playing X so I have to go kill Y" joke. But, I have been playing Amnesia and I am far too busy hiding in in a dark corner.

Meh, idiots will be idiots, the media's entire existence is based on how much hype and fear they can drum up (Especially in the US), after all, you don't get good ratings talking about boring things like how they currently haven't the ability to bring dead murderers back to life and read their minds to find out their true motives, do you?

Simply put, I have been told that unless I take "X" medicine or whatever, that I'll go nuts and kill people, that was 10 years ago, I stopped taking it to prove them wrong, I was depressed and dealing with a great deal of situational anger, I played violent games, and I tend to listen to what some would consider "Violent" music, and yet, I have never killed anyone, hell the only fights I've been involved in, I DIDN'T START, so one could even say that I'm *GASP* not a violent man.

Some people are really mentally ill, and don't get help, and then this kinda stuff happens, and they blame it on games, why? because they know it'll get a reaction out of someone somewhere, it'll cause fear, and it'll glue people to their TVs to see what they're talking about, and keep the money rolling into their stations.

It'll eventually stop happening when they find something else to blame.

Fallout 3 is a great game. So good that I want to nuke the planet, just so I can wander around D.C. and shoot mutants. Bethesda you monsters.

EDIT: I wonder what serial killers do in their spare time aside from murder... Or what they did BEFORE they became murderers? If news groups ever found that out, they'd of course be blamed in a heartbeat. "It has emerged that (insert serial killer here) once enjoyed playing snooker. The question we now ask is: Why do people allow themselves to enjoy such a sadistic 'game' that involves manipulating unsuspecting orbs with violence to bend to your will?"

Get Lonesome Road for F:NV, and you can do exactly that.

Since I have been playing Assassin's Creed, should I be stabbing people, climbing buildings, hugging Leonardo da Vinci, or lying on a couch trying to access the memories of my ancestors? I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO BE BLINDLY INFLUENCED BY.

look at that starcraft footage. you can barely tell whats going on, much less tell whether the action on screen is violent or not. the stupidity or these "journalists" and "specialists" is funny but the fact that its not just the deranged views of some random idiots (ie, paranoid soccer moms and fox news) is troubling. blaming games for violence is nothing new but im getting sick of it. guess its a good thing no one watches cnn

I hate how in modern society no one has to take responsibility for their actions. It's always a video game, or a book, or a movie that made someone do it. It's never because they were mentally unstable or pushed over the edge by some terrible event, it's always they played some video game or read some book that implanted in their mind the thought of going into a school and shooting 20 people. I'm even more amazed that games like the Columbine Shooting Simulator or Postal are never mentioned, but innocuous games like COD and Starcraft II are to blame. It's a sad time we're living in indeed.

...Meh. The media can have this as far as I'm concerned. I don't play Starcraft.

Stay away from Mass Effect though. Fuckers.
