Ashe is a pretty straight forward champ, she is who I started with!

It depends on your play style, you should use any champ that is on the free rotation (it changes every week) and just learn them that way so you aren't wasting IP on champions you may regret.

I recommend just playing bot games and asking your team for advice. In no time your eyes will open and you will see how each champion is meant to be played.

Garen, Soraka, Master Yi, Nunu.
Those 4 are all in my opinion easy to play and cost just 450 ip.

However I would just play with the free rotation for a while, instead of sticking to one champ or even unlocking one. That way you get to know how they all play so you know what they do when you come across them as an enemy later.

Well it's good to not stick to just one champion. If someone picks that one before you, you're screwed.

Also, play as many champions as you can. Nothing sucks more than going up against an enemy you know next to nothing about. Play everyone so you know what to expect, strengths and weaknesses, counters and hard counters.

Also, use this website: [link]http://www.mobafire.com/[/link]

I still use this website for champion guides from time to time and I'm level 30! It has in-depth strategy guides and builds for each champion and it can be very handy before jumping into a champion.

Be prepared to be called a ****** allot until you get good, after that happens and your playing with other lv30s you be getting called a fucking ****** ass clown(regardless of how well you play it is always your falut and not theirs that your team is loseing) or other such curses as the people who are level 30 have had more time to think of insults

Try out a few different Champions. Also, look at strategy guides for whichever Champions are free this week. Once you find one strategy that you are good with, look for similar Champions and learn their strategies, in case the one that you want is taken.
I find that picking my character quickly helps a lot.
Even if people harass you, don't whine--don't show weakness. Either stay quiet or apologize politely--but try to appear confident while you do.

Or alternatively if you don't care about the game in question deliberately take actions and say things to make the bros that are mad even more angry( this does not mean throwing the game there are ways to do this while still tring to win). The rise you can get out of LoL ragers is often as entertaining as the game itself.

I started out playing Warwick, he is pretty much perfect for beginners. He has some nice healing, hes fairly tanky, does quite a bit of damage, has some good support and his ultimate is a really easy to pull off stun. All the 450 ip champions should be fine for learning the game though.

A lot of people recommend Ashe but I don't really think shes all that optimal for beginners as her ultimate can be tricky to pull off and to maximize effectiveness you will need to be toggling her slow on and off frequently, which can be a little distracting for beginners, who will usually just have it permanently toggled on or off.

I started playing LOL a few months ago and found that the easiest champions to play as and that I would come back to were Master Yi and Ashe. Id recommend using them till you get use to the controls and game mechanics and then branch out to free to play characters. Also don't let the community piss you off, when I started playing I got matched with some real assholes :)

I started mainly with mages. Untill you get used to the game I would recommend using ranged characters or mages as they are easier to use effectively. Play bot games until you feel competent and then you could try blind pick.

Also read guides, for beginners I would recommend MOBAFIRE as it will give you a build and skill order that you can just follow. As you get better at the game you will need to change your build for each match but when starting out you don't need to worry about that.

Also level 30 let's you play ranked. IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE READY FOR IT
Do not rush into ranked as you will regret it.

Actual characters I might recommend to a beginner would be Garen or Ryze. A lot of people will say Ashe and she can be fun to start with but just know that you will not be using her effectively at the start as she actually has a high learning curve compared to other carries.
Pretty much all of the cheap 450 IP champs are good for beginners so try them.

You also want to try champions who are free for that week, it's usaully best to try champs before you buy them.

Lee Sin, Anivia and Orianna.

No but seriously Master Yi wrecks in the early levels, Annie and Garen are good picks to learn the basics.

And Fiddlesticks or Warwick if you want to try out the jungle.

I actually did start playing with Anivia XD

She looked like a cool champ and was cheaper than the other cool looking champs I wanted to try so she was the first champ I bought and I actually did pretty well with her for how new I was. Anivia top too strong in low levels!!!

Ashe-Cheep ranged AD will let you know if you like being the glory hog of the team post 25 min

I found swapping the keys made my life a hell of a lot easier (being a big FPS player rather than MOBA). WASD for moving, 1/2/3/4 for skills and ctr+1234 to select a skill to level and Q and E for my summoner spells.

As for champs, just use the weeks free champs till you find a role (tank/support/bruiser etc) you prefer, then you can start focusing on finding a champ you like. Other than that, just play against bots to get experience and learn the game and when you feel ready try some pvp.

First of all, try to find some friends to play with. The LoL community is a hive of scum and villainy, although I hope that the honour system makes it better(even if they are only being nice to get honour) if you're on the NA servers you can add me and I'll play some bot matches with you. I'm not the greatest but I'm not too bad I think.

Start off with the free week champions at first just to learn the game, start with ranged people as they are safer to play until you get a handle on the game and how it plays. Ashe and Annie are good cheap starters. Then you can slowly work your way up as you figure out how to play and what not. As for "builds" mobafire works, but is not always set in stone. While the majority of equipment may be the same from game to game not everything may be the same all the time. As you continue to play you'll notice that matches aren't always the same so certain gear might be useless one match and essential for another.

BTW: my name is Issurru if anyone on the NA servers wants to add me. I mostly play support Jarvan with a sprinkle of Darius and Ezreal right now

"Son, I am disappoint".

Master Yi is a nub stomper. It teaches you nothing, because it only works against people who know nothing. He's essentially "OP" against people who don't know what hard CC or target rendering are (and don't have ignite yet). Once you do understand how he works and what it takes to counter him he degenerates into a one trick pony. Well, two trick I guess. He can split push and he can sweep up low health enemies after a fight has ended. Or he can Alpha Strike into a fight then run away or die... The only thing Master Yi teaches you is that the majority of people will simply cry "OP!!" instead of trying to learn how to fight something.

Waste of money.

Take the cheaper 450 champions first. They're all very small investments and most of them are actually very strong (like Nunu who is a tournament level support or jungler) at their job, and they let you experience each of the roles so you know what you like. Don't fall for the "more expensive champions are better!" trap. Pricing is based solely on how "sought after" and "new" a champion looks/is. It has nothing to do with how effective they are in a game.

Also, while it's not extremely relevant to you right now, read this [http://thefightingword.blogspot.pt/2012/09/lol-understanding-meta-part-1.html] and this [http://thefightingword.blogspot.pt/2012/09/lol-understanding-meta-part-2.html] and I'll get around to writing part 3 soon. Probably today. In low level games the "meta" doesn't matter as much, but it helps. It also helps you "grow" into higher level games without many of the typical fuck ups of newer players.

Another important thing is to watch tournament streams. Twitch.tv and Own3d usually have round the clock LoL streams by top players. Watch their tactics, their teams, the way they play. Learn from them. I know you're doing normal blind pick for now, but it helps a LOT in understanding the game.

Finally, what server are you on? And if you have any other questions, let us know.

i never said YI was good
I said there was no wrong item on him.
he is by far the best charter for your first game
because it removes your need to nitpick there builds and possible make them lose interest in the game.
The first 20 levels teach you nothing as there is no meta to counter. He will figure out YI stinks after that point and move on(Like everyone has).
