Ah yeah the cross the map ranged attacks, that's fair enough. EDIT: Although you are pretty much moving in a straight line. And don't you have to stop moving when you're firing at big range for accuracy? You could probably still WASD that. And you don't have a huge amount you can contribute tactically to a fight when you're walking back to it, that you can't check the minimap/flip to your character for a second or two to avoid a tower.DazZ. said:I don't want to have to be looking at my character when I'm moving across the map to a teamfight, and certainly not when I have skills with a huge range etc.BrotherRool said:You really got my hopes up thereAbize said:Haha, sadly you can't, I meant the camera. I probably should've made that more clear =S. Would be awesome to move the character with WASD though....
I have no idea why you can't WASD in MoBA games though, is clicking really a better way of moving? Even if it's better, it surely doesn't feel as good as WASDing does. Maybe its just a hangover from spawning from a RTS
Clicking is definitely an advantage, but I don't know if the benefits are particularly better than being able to adjust where you're moving and attack an enemy at the same time
EDIT EDIT: I guess it might make farming a little too easy? And attacking in general would be easy if you could move whilst staying focussed on the enemy, so the overall skill level of the game would drop. On the other hand, it's a relevant e-sports question on how much skill should be inforced by the interface. Starcraft 1 didn't allow big unit groups, or AI probes and arguably it had a much better skill climb than SC2 has at the moment because of it. But on the other hand Starcraft 2 is more purely focused on the strategy and unit control because of it
