Why does it have to be full after 15 games? You're playing against opponents roughly the same level as your own, so their mastery tree will be as full as yours. Levels 1-30 are a considerable part of the learning process - you DO NOT know everything about the game after only 15 games, especially if you haven't played DotA before. If you'd play against max level players after only 15 games, they would straight up MURDER you.
As I mentioned at the top of my post, I AM an avid DotA player. After a few games with competent people, I'm sure I would be able to compete at their level. Oh wait, if I was paired with good people, then I would be inherently worse because I didn't have runes or masteries. Looks like I gotta grind some pubs.

Sir, I don't mean to be rude, but I really don't feel like you read my post.

I said that a one only has access to 10 or so heroes at a time, unless they are willing to pay money. I know that it is possible to unlock more using the points you earn from playing games, but that takes a godawfully long time. In dota, you have access to 100+ heros instantly.

You contradict yourself. Apparently, runes and masteries = a t2 item. Runes and masteries come from playing many games. Therefore, playing many games gives you an advantage.

Then you mention IP, which is purchased money. I also mentioned that a game which allows you to purchase advantage is bad.

Again, you mention that runes and masteries (which are acquired by playing or paying) influence the game.

Finally, popularity has nothing to do with this argument.
Don't worry I'm not the e-thug type to see rudeness just for the sake of fighting over.

But I'll stay by my argument that you haven't played the game for more than 5 minutes. Dota was a map on warcraft3 while this is a full game(see HoN which is 1/3 of how big LoL is and you have to purchase it to be able to play it).All f2p games have a basic "package" that it's free while the rest you buy it. Thing is you can either speed up to buy everything with cash(I might be wrong but the whole champ bundle is around 20 euro)or just play games and buy just the champions you like.As all MMOs it's different pay styles so while activelly there are fewer people that pay for content you have a bigger player base.Marketing which i don't care that much and as all MMOs play with friends or assholes will ruin the game. But I digress.

Runes just as masteries aren't all unlocked at level 1 but you get one slot each time you level. A win gets you around 110 IP(Influence Points, while the stuff you pay cash for it's called RP-Riot Points)while a loss around 60.Tier 3 runes costs btwn 205-800 IP(you can use them once you reach lvl 20).And I assure you it takes more than 8 games to level up so you really do buy runes as you level up.

As for me pointing out the big events LoL is getting into...well it wasn't popularity I was pointing at but beeing part of esports. I might be a big nerd but I do care about the growth of,be them counterstrike/Quake, Starcraft or in this case LoL.

Game is alright in the sense that it's amusing and generally enjoyable if you don't take it too seriously. However, RIOT is a horrible company and the game is horribly balanced and bugged out the wazoo. The community is one of the worst gaming communities I've ever had the misfortune of playing with. The item shop is very well designed.

I wouldn't play it at all if I didn't have friends who play it.

That said, funny videos. I've always loved the Anivia one.

The Summoner spells add an unacceptable degree of uncertainty to the game since one cannot find out if the opponents spells are on cooldown.
This is nonsense since you can't tell when normal abilities are off cooldown.

However, its main sins are:
PLAYERS WHO SPEND MORE TIME GET AN ADVANTAGE
PAYING MONEY GIVES YOU AN ADVANTAGE
These two attributes are unforgivable in _any_ competitive online game.
Paying more money does not give you a direct advantage. The only advantage paying money gives you is you can generally purchase the newer, overpowered champions faster. That's not the pay system's fault, that's RIOT being horrible at balancing.

Finally, you have a limited selection of heroes- around 10 at any given time compared to DotAs 100+.
DoTA has 100+... most of which are rarely played, very bland, and uncreative. Quality > quantity. (Not that LOL champions are that much better on average...)

Also, after a few days you should be able to afford far more champions simply from IP from playing.
