Hullo everyone! I have posted in a couple of gaming discussion threads now and I feel like it was less a discussion and more a share and leave and never talk to each other again thing.

SO instead of beating around the bush trying to find another one I feel like discussing I decided I wanted to open up a discussion about League of Legends, mostly because it is the game I waste most of my time on

He definitely seems like a creative champion, and Riot have been trying hard to create cool new mechanics for the champions they release. I can never really judge whether I like one before I've seen actually seen him/her/it in action. Either way, I'm sure there will be cries over over-/underpowered, no matter how good or bad he is.

I'm sure carries will hate him. He seems like the kind of bastard that you just can't get away from, no matter how hard you try.

On another note, I really recommend everyone go watch the release trailer for Ekko on Youtube. Riot's CG department has been knocking it out of the park lately.

I know right, their YouTube channel is actually worth watching now. I am really excited for his release, even though he's a top laner and I am a pretty bronze top laner. All the teams that get me insta locking Ekko are gonna be crying for days

I agree, although the odd times I get a ranked team that doesn't ban Sejuani I would trade for the assassin meta back xD

Video was really cool, abilities less so.

Passive: Looks really generic, I mean how many "hit blah times in a row to deal bonus damage" champs we got now? Braum, Vayne, Gnar, is that it? either way you get the idea, not the most creative passive.

Q: Just another boomerang like Sivir or Gnar

W: Looks like a Soraka Equinox to me, except with a slow instead of a silence.

E: Actually pretty cool, could see some nice jukes with this.

R: Hoped for something a bit more than that, like maybe a global ult that when activated would start ticking down and then after 5 seconds, revert EVERYTHING back to how it was 5 seconds ago. But now you just affect little ole you, I can't really think of any use for this except for face checking (hope you don't get silenced) or juking.

They're redesigning Ashe? Well it's about damn time. That "e" of hers has been just awful, considering all the increased vision capabilities introduced to the game through trinkets and sightstones. And she has barely even qualified as an adc for a long time now.

Personally I'm cautiously optimistic about him, nothing in his kit seems inherently overpowered, which, no offence to Keoul and your ambitious hopes for his R, I was very afraid of when the initial teasers kept making vague allusions to turning back time which if not handled carefully could have been a very frustrating mechanic.

In general though I'm never very thrilled by the addition of new champions since they tend to be overpowered or broken before Rito get their act together and balance them a month later. That's why Bard's release was such a nice surprise - a champion so useless in the hands of 99% of players that I didn't have to pay much attention to learning to counter him or picking him up myself. Call me a stick-in-the-mud but I'm just about happy with the roster as it is now and every new addition is just more homework and headaches haha

Yeah, and her new kit releases with 5.9.

Really makes her much more versatile by making her Frost Arrows be her passive now (so every auto-attack deals bonus damage and slows the target...the damage and slow percentage is scales off her critical strike chance, I believe) and replacing her Q with a new offensive ability (the Machine Gun Mode I mentioned). Now every time she slows a target, she gets a stack of focus. At any time, she can use her Q to increase her attack speed for a short amount of time, but if she has full focus stacks (5) she increases attack speed AND every attack hits 3 times (the two secondary hits do reduced damage). Volley has been tweaked as well, adding more arrows for a much tighter cone. This makes it harder to avoid, but also increases the chance of minions soaking up multiple arrows, shielding enemy champions.

However since Volley also slows those it hits, it will be very effective in building up those Focus stacks.

And yeah, her E was actually decent enough in her old kit...like I said I really liked the passive gold boost that they'll be getting rid of for this new kit. But in exchange, it will stack up to 2 charges and is now a global ability, allowing her to throw birdies anywhere she wants.

Her ult is mostly unchanged.

I believe they consider her new kit to officially make her a "Utility adc."

Two of his abilities are already in the game (Vel'Koz and Gnar), and his ult is in dota, albeit without the explosion.

You could even make the argument that his third ability is just a remix of the Kalista passive, so that would be 4 out of 5 abilities you could point elsewhere to for 'inspiration'.

Yeh Ekko looks good, I was hoping for a less generic time rewind ult cuz it's legit just Weaver's Time Lapse with a stun tacked on. At least he cannot possibly be worse than Bard unless he has a button that starts a surrender vote with 4 yes votes checked already. Oh wait Bard's ult is basically that 99% of the time ty rito

I sort of like the tank meta right now because i've gotten into playing Veigar and Event Horizon is fast becoming my favourite move in the game. Sit the fuck down Thresh, welcome to the original box. It still makes me laugh when an enemy AP rushes Luden's Echo then asks me in all chat how I 1v1'd them when my items are pretty much mana regen and maybe half an Hourglass. Nice 120 AP item, be a shame if I had an ult that takes 80% of your combined AP then slaps you across the face with it... The legitimate oneshots lategame still surprises me. Flash R on a full health Cassiopeia and she just dies.

Man I could never get Chronos working when I tried to play him. The short channel time before he reverts back was enough to kill me every time. I should just go back to playing KKK and panic slamming the ult button when I get ganked and the guy just melts because that damage is insane.

Pretty much, it just seems kinda lackluster for an ult to me, yeah it's really useful but it's not amazing. Like you said it's just a tool for running away, diving towers and ganking out of jungle just seem like a waste considering how short it is.

Though I have seen people using it to instantly teleport back to lane so there's that at least.

Have you also seen the tentative changes to Karma yet too? http://www.surrenderat20.net/2015/05/red-post-collection-tentative-karma-pbe.html It's like they're trying to encourage the people who play her as a support with the mantra shield changes, if you had that in bot lane a 10% increase in damage dealt to the target as well as a debuff seems like a really significant buff to her as a support. As well as the damage dealt healing her for 20%, an enemy adc could really underestimate that. I honestly played her more in mid, but I'm kinda excited about the changes

Wow, this would change things a ton. I play a lot of support Karma, but I mainly use her as a hyper-aggressive harasser. With a competent adc, who knows how to poke, it's quite easy to rock the early game with her. Later on, she became much more of a utility champ and a long-range poker, but dropped off really hard if the early game wasn't good.

But now, it looks like she'll be far more dependent on her team, with the way her W has been changed. She'll be more useful in team-fights, but pretty useless on her own.

Haven't been paying attention to that so much because I don't play Karma. I've seen her kick all sorts of ass but I...don't really even know what she can do other than a speed boost, a stun, and a shield.

The only supports I have are Zyra for aggressive support and DJ Sona (after getting drunk and spending that much money on a skin I feel obligated to specifically mention that I have it ) for more...well..."supporty" support.

I did get to play as New Ashe last night, and while it certainly would have been nice to have a support who actually...you know...supported me instead of just wandering off on their own and clearly trying to take my kills (and farm, for that matter), I still managed to do pretty damn good with her. That new Q of hers is as ridiculous as I had hoped it would be...the only problem is I'm not used to it yet. I keep firing it off prematurely before I have my 5 focus stacks because I'm so used to having to switch on the frost arrows with Q when I go to engage. New Ashe + The Hurricane = Holy Shit! Machine Gun mode, indeed!

You're not so wrong with that assessment. She's got a q for straight damage, her w is a root, and her e is speedboost+shield. Each of these can be super-powered with her ult. To me, karma's power is in her very low cooldowns, making her very spammy in lane. That blitzcrank wants to pull your adc? Boom, speed boost, and your adc can dodge. They go hard on your adc? Boom, root on their adc, preferably with an exhaust on top. And the whole time you're poking them with q's.

The main thing with karma is positioning and mana management. You want enough mana to disengage if they try to kill you, but also want to be in a good position to poke and to go in if a jungle gank comes. I think she has a very high skill ceiling, but then I'm not a very good player. I still feel like I have a lot to learn playing Karma, but I just really enjoy playing as her.

I'm very interested to see what she will feel like with new changes.

God the only champion in SMITE is Hercules. =) That was just a little joke don't take it too seriously. Anyway it's a pretty easy comparison to make considering Ekko's ult uses the God's name as a root word.

I'd like to talk about League of legends almost as much as i'd like to play it but unfortuantly Riot still uses it's terrible download which stops me from actually being able to update league. Used to love the game until Riot got their new downloader and i've hardly been able to play it since.
