But in terms of the console, I saw one of the screencaps looking like it came from an Xbox forum.Ultratwinkie said:As I said before, even with 10% download rates 1/3rd of GTA players are pirates. 18% is all that's needed for 50% piracy.Dragonbums said:The question is, this- views are views. Millions of people can view a file, but never download it. So how many people actually downloaded it?Ultratwinkie said:It hasn't.Toadfish1 said:Its fascinating to me that PC gamers can look at a situation like this, and think it hasn't taken GTA V on PC off the table. Like, millions of gamers instantly pirating GTA V doesn't show why the dev would be wasting their time porting to the console.
You know, you are allowed to make a distinction between what you want to happen, and what is likely to happen.
GTA V on consoles was pirated 4 days before release with 86 million views. That's just on xbox alone. Even then, the PC version is already done if you look into the data files, and it was the lead platform so they can easily port it to next gen consoles. R is just waiting, and fixing online so the real next gen versions can have a seamless experience.
Console piracy is huge, now its even bigger than PC piracy. The most pirated PC game barely reach 3-4 million and that was spore. GTA V has 86 million views, so how can you say the PC is worse?
I'm not saying it isn't a large amount, but there are a good chunk of the Xbox populace that just don't give a fuck about GTA. Whether it's free or not.
And going to view torrents and not downloading a single copy. Really? That's like going to a sex shop and saying you weren't interested in what they have.
Pirate sites are not something people browse in spare time. Its an illegal site meant for theft. People go there to steal.
I'm fairly certain a good number of people thought about clicking the download button, but thought better.
There is hesitation when it comes to these things.
