You're all aware of the existence of flaming high-fives yes? You cover your hand in deodorant, light it and high-five someone who has done the same thing. I hope that explains how much I learned in school.

Listening and starting a discussion/asking my teacher stuff.
And writing some notes to refresh my memory for tests but mainly listening.

Notes. I always took notes and reread the material the night before, and perhaps a bit before the actual test. Then again, I've always been a compulsive list-maker and note-taker. I have to write it over and over until I feel it's exactly the 'right' way. Grocery lists alone take about three to four attempts.

Don't worry, I don't waste paper by just throwing it out after one sentence. I keep the lists that didn't make the cut and use them as doodle paper. Or if I was using pencil , I'll erase whatever I wrote on it and just re-use it for something else. Another attempt probably. lol

Pretty much when told to write it down or prompt to. Also we had to answer those question in thoe exercise book just to make sure we did learn it.

I wrote a lot down. I never looked back at my notes, just the act of writing it made me remember :)

High school: Just payed attention during classes. I never made my homework, but paying attention in class was more then enough for me. College: The casual week-before-a-test and no paying attention during class at all.

I generally leaned through osmosis/discussion. I only wrote down the most important or confusing concepts.

This is what I did: ignored all my teachers and just did my homework in class while they talked and if I didn't have any I just educated myself by reading my textbook. Everything they said was essentially the textbook ad verbatim so I wasn't missing anything. By halfway through the year I was two weeks ahead of my classes.
