Simple what review sites do you just not like.

Personally, I never cared for Gamespot. There is something about their review style that just doesn't click for me. I think they have too high of standards sometimes and are a little too picky.

All of them.

They all have their own biases and sponsors, most reviews aren't written by the same people so an entire site is inconsistent (though we will quote their inconsistencies and blame everyone) It all just builds on itself and becomes a terrible mess of something better off ignored.

Eh, I haven't seen much of Gamespot, but I really don't much care for IGN. I felt for a while that they were out for Nintendo's head since the release of the Wii. Though that has been changing lately, from the couple reviews or so that I have read since I stopped reading them regularly about a year ago, I never really went back so I can't accurately say what it's like there now.

Destructoid is the worst. I really don't mind most sites but there's only a few I actually really like. The semi-professional to professional youtube video reviewers like Classic Game Room are usually better than most sites.

What about The Escapist?
Ahhh just joking.

Although, it really sucks when people treat Yahtzees 'reviews' as proper reviews.
Like when a bunch of people decide not to buy the game just because he went on about, say that part of Bad Company 2 when your running down a street while its being 'mortarored' (or however he put it.)

What sucks even more is when people see an ACTUAL review that is horrendously bad, and that heavily influences their decision on whether to give the game a go or not.

IGN gave Metro 2033 a 6.9/10 just for occassional AI stuffupages and because the dude playing couldnt do stealth sections and somehow got stuck in a wall, lots of people in the comments said 'Oh thanks IGN I now know not to get this game!'

What
The
Fuck

Due to how many were saying stuff like that there is little chance that many people were being sarcastic or anything, seeing as this is IGN/Youtube (wherever it was posted) after all.

I found SOME of IGN's other reviews not completely ridiculous, mainly the ones done by that guy who does all the big name titles and not that imbecile who reviewed Metro.

Sure that guy gives samey blockbuster games big scores, but at least he covers the main points on whats best and worst about them...sometimes...

I usually check out a handful of websites, but they rarely discourage me from buying a game I've already set my mind (and wallet) on.

I've heard a lot of people hate on IGN, but because these reviews are generally read out of mere curiosity, I haven't noticed. I suppose I haven't actually read that many reviews by 'em, but ye...

All sites that don't agree with my personal opinion of any game I like, or reviews any huge mainstream game with a good grade are horrible and biased.

But seriously, I have to agree with Destructoid, also GameTrailers because their criticism often tends to be just horribly out of touch with their scores. They'd be better of by stopping the scores.

I don't like them because they get kickbacks for favorable reviews and fire writers that don't go along with it. Not that I really frequent Giant Bomb either.

I don't really like game reviews to tell you the truth... except Zero Punctuation but that's just entertaining. I don't care what someone's opinion of a game is. Most of these bozos have really bad taste anyway and aren't very critical, especially for critics. I really don't know how some of these games get top marks.

There is one reason why I like going to metacritic. All reviews are biased (a fan of a genre rating a game on said genre is going to have a differetn opinion to a newcomer, hater, etc.), so going over there gives me an idea of several opinioins on the game, and helps me make a more informed purchase. If a site isn't with me in my opinion, so what? I can still like the game, it is not like because they publish in the Internet they have the absolute word about everything.

IGN is always a "fun" read, but I've gotta say Gamespot's video reviews are just... painful to watch sometimes.

IGN and Gamespot. Baah >.<
Actually i don't even read reviews. I watch trailers-gameplay videos-check metacritic-lol-buy/don't buy.

IGN. I learned to only go there for walkthroughs and nothing more. I stopped going to them for game advice after they convinced me to buy Bad Company 2, which was frankly a waste of my money.

I don't read IGN. They once had someone review Football Manager 2009 and complain that you couldn't control the players like in FIFA or PES. His review was basiclly that he didn't like management games therefore its crap.

I do listen to what PC Gamer (UK) has to say (in particular Tom Francis) and Rock Paper Shotgun (if only because the review score is given as Optimus Prime's thumbs out of 5).

Gametrailers and IGN are ones I pay most attention too, it's interesting what does and doesn't get mentioned and looking for comparisons.

With that said some of their scores are kinda ridiculous (Halo Reach is not a 10).

Also they both have horrible communities, especially Gametrailers.

I'm going to have to nominate Critical Miss, if it counts, simply for their awful review of Halo: Reach. Now I know this sounds like a petty fanboy screaming at somebody for not having the same opinions as him (a la Half-Life's fanbase) but it raised a whole bunch of inaccurate criticisms and only a couple of good ones (for example I will agree with what they said about Legendary difficulty. Fuck you, Bungie). On top of that, the very limitations of being a comic meant it could not flesh out or explain its criticisms properly, and left the guys looking like they were just trying to be cool by disliking a mainstream game.

As an aside, I'm going to complain about something else. Whenever a mainstream game gets good reviews from a critic, cue a whole truckload of people going "lol biased reviewers". Whenever someone releases a good review of, say, a Valve game? BAM, they're awesome reviewers who are correct in every way and obviously speaking with their own opinion. It pisses me off, it seems like this whole site is collectively trying to be a REBEL because it's COOL.

Gamespot, i just find their videos boring. I'm still pissed at IGN for giving Metro 2033 a 6.9, i didn't get that game because of that until i played it at a friends and loved it.
I never get why FPS' get 9/10's or higher. For me a game to get a 9 or higher it has to bring something new to the table not just the same shoot-kill formula. Don't get me wrong i love playing FPS' but i don't think MW2 should get higher than Oblivion.
I also get pissed when a game not liking it. I watched a review for Fallout: New Vegas when the reviewer said he hated the fallout setting and ended up giving it a 7
