Oocoo from Twilight Princess, although not a protagonist, he is my most hated character ever. I don't know who designed him, I suppose he was trying to be cute or something, but what he did make was something that might have been born if a family of failed genetic crossover experiments had incest sex, he completely freak me out and gave me goosebumps.

I hate him for starting making it acceptable to be an publicly emotionally ******.
There's so much wrong with that sentence, both grammatically and intellectually that I don't even know where to start.
I agree, even I raised an eyebrow to that sentance. I could tear into it but I'm not going to.

On topic: Sev and the rest of the protagonists from Killzone 2. I actually found how pissed off they got about their enemies killing ISA soldiers to be incredibly stupid (shit happens when you invade dumbass). Also, your mother comments. I'm pretty sure the guy who kept making them died. I hope it was him.

Gordon Freeman, yea....I went there. One of the most uncompelling and dull characters I have ever had the misfortune of playing. He's not cool, he's not a good protagonist, and just a floating camera that shoots a wields a crowbar. No more interesting than the majority of FPS heroes.
The one problem I have with this argument is that Gordon Freeman is not supposed to be a developed character. He's meant to be the vessel through which you experience the story, he's more you than he is a separate entity.
I've heard this half assed argument before and it doesn't fly. When people say how great of a character he is when there is virtually none what so ever, then I will not and can not accept such flimsy logic. He is terribly personified unlike other GOOD silent protagonists, and I can't take anyone seriously if they consider him to be a good character in any sense of the word.

Placing ones self into another character is nothing more than lazy design in a game like that. It's a stupid excuse to avoid creating any GOOD character what so ever.

No, you're just missing the point.

Considering the rest of the Half-Life series (and everything else they've done) I think its fair to say Valve aren't lazy. Just because it doesn't resonate with you like it does others does not make it lazy either.

They do it for the exact same reasons they don't include cutscenes (not traditional ones anyway) - they want you to experience it as much as possible, not experience it through someone else.

Silver kicking ten tonnes of shite outta Sonic in the 06 version.

The only real saving grace is watching that smug prick get his face rammed into the floor.

Hmmm... I actually liked Sev a lot. He kept his mouth shut for the most purt and looked incredibly badass.
The guy who got killed by the way was not the guy with "your mother" jokes. You're right there, the squad was a team of jerks.

Really, i could just list every protagonist from every Square/Enix rpg game i've ever played and everyone on that list would be an equally valid answer. Not saying i hate their games, its just their protagonists are weak, whiney girly boys. Its always been about the supporting cast in those games for me.
How about Parasite Eve.... Aya Brea is freakin awsome... and gorgious at the age of 30 something. Any way for characters I hate... I'm going to have to say Murlocs.... I hate those mother ....ers, you fight one, they run away, and come back with 15 others, holly hell, they piss me off.

Now...Squall from FF8. HE is an emo twat that should die in a Fire (and then a Fira, a Firaga, and then FIAGRA!, the logical conclusion to fire and viagra!) Virtually everything he says is garbage (including when he doesn't speak at all). This may be because the characters surrounding him are crap too, but we won't forgive him for that! His weapon sucks, his job sucks, his reactions to ANYTHING sucks, and I can't think of any reason for why Square thought THIS was a good character!
I think you may have become my new least favorite person ever. Unless you are trolling, in which case kudos, you did a good job.
Get thee behind me, devil. Your accusation doth expose your own self instead. Offensive, I say to thee. If thou hast problems with me speaking of my least favorite protagonist in a thread built for such things, then I suggest you find yourself elsewhere. For I was on topic, as the evidence bears clearly.
While I don't judge you for posting negative comments about a character on this particular post, I have to question your choice of targets. How one can throw hate at Squall & Co. when there are travesties like Vaan running around is beyond me. However, the manner of your reply was unique enough to cause me to withdraw my "least favorite person" comment. Good work!
I haven't PLAYED FF12.

Meggie from Inkdeath, mainly because she just sits around and whines alot, and when she finnally gets off her ass to do something, a...thing comes in at the last second and magically solves the plot for her.

Captain Kirk from the new Star Trek movie, but since this is a gaming thread... I'll say Kirby. I preferred Dedede as an antihero.

etzio(?) from assassin's creed 2.
Hey, I liked Ezio! He was a massive improvement over Altair.
i actually never got very far in assasins creed 1, got to one of the first jumping puzzles and it was impossible on the pc so i cant say whether he was an improvement, but Ezio is so boring, all there is to his personality is horniness and revenge, close to every other characters in the game have more dept and personality, the only one who is more of an tool is Desmond.

and how can he be an improvement, all the best stuff in the game is altairs letdowns.
