LittleBigPlanet.

Seriously, sometimes I am bored out of my mind with it, but whenever I play it I notice there is a smile on my face.

Diablo 2. Just when I want to kill loads of doods and indulge in a homicidal rage its the game for me :D. With the Eastern Sun Mode it pwns a lot and its almost a neverending fun to just hammer everything.

Garry's mod, with a ton of addons installed.
So, so true.

You can twiddle away hours upon hours just screwing with the physics and concocting new, ungodly creations. And it never pisses you off.

And hey, if it somehow does, download a skydiving, theme park, haunted house, or some other map and waste even more time having a blast.
Yeah. Me and my friend downloaded the Bigcity and some Nuke packs, Spider-man packs, and some weapons, (including a waffle launcher). we've clocked up 70-ish hours together.
that's more time than I've spend on actual £30-£40 releases.

Prince of Persia (2008)

The art style and gameplay create a fantastical calm atmosphere. The music, however, truly sets it apart, in my opinion, from other non-frustrating games.

The gameplay is fun, yet never overly challenging as you only have to hit a few buttons to pull off the moves needed - and the combat allows you to pull off interesting looking moves with ease. Best off all you can't die - you're simply transported back to the last spot of land you stood on. I suppose this could become frustrating if you consistently die during some of the games tougher areas, but I didn't have any issues.

The characters too are "fun", they simply make snide jokes, and seem to act almost carefree - despite the burden the storyline attempts to throw at them. Likewise there's no pressure to feel anything but disdain for the villain as he is, quite literally, evil.

I dunno why, but Tomb Raider Underworld calms me down so much. And no, it has nothing to do with Lara Croft.

Would have to be either MGS/MGSTS, MGS2 or MGS3.

First MGS1/TS and MGS2 I've completed so many times now that whenever I play them I usually just mess with the guards.

MGS3, I played through once before and since I've recently gotten a working PS2 again I've played through it a second time.

Currently on my third playthrough and I don't know what it is but whenever I play a MGS title I always feel "just right".

Least frustrating game? Well, that would be the TMNT movie game. You can't die in combat, and it checkpoints every time you have to pull off a vaguely acrobatic move. Also no boss takes more than five minutes to kill.
All that sillyness, though, is somewhat offput by how damn good the voice acting was.

for me I used to play oblivion to relax, I'd just stroll through the countryside or ride my horse... god I really want to play it now...
THIS!

But I did it with Shadow of the Colossus.

Also: GTA Vice City and GTA IV,
put on a nice radio channel and go for a ride,
just enjoy the sunset...

So Escapists, what is your least frustrating game?

Oddly enough, right now I'm really digging Bad Company 2. I just love flying the helicopters, it really calms me down.
I agree. While the game itself if deeply entertaining, and serves as a great way to unwind, I find that when you land that one perfect snipe where you accounted for bullet drop, travel time, and enemy movement perfectly from afar, it's nothing short of cathartic.

That is, until you get to the puzzles or combat sections. The parkour itself is very nice, though.

I would say... Counter-Strike. When I'm not playing hardcore, I normally play on Aztec which is by far the most relaxing multiplayer map for me.

Absolutely NO stress. Just play.
Gotta agree with this. The music is very feel good too which helps.
I also find a round against an easy AI on DOW using the Imperial Gaurd to be kinda relaxing too.

I would say this but sadly I don't have a PS3. So much fun! I don't have a calming game, I use music to calm me down.

The combat is a breeze so it's incredibly fun. Some of the puzzles for the Alchemist are annoying; that's why walkthroughs were created.

A Dogs Life! A game where you play a dog and you pee on things and steal sausages! I loved it. Finished it in 2 hours and sold it, a move I regret.

Oblivion to walk through the forests and pick alchemical ingredients.
Pokemon Yellow / Silver / Fire Red / Emerald etc...
Saints Row 2 - This game takes no cognitive facilities to play, you can be completely cerebrally absent.
