I just finished playing Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit and was really enjoying it until near the end, when what seemed to be a mostly well executed, atmospheric, character driven game suddenly turns into a matrix ripoff with almost no warning, a month just vanishes in game, and the character development more or less screeches to a halt.

And I never heard any explanation for either the angels or the bugs.

+1

I loved that game up through the museum, QTEs and all...and then it all went to hell.

Fantastic story that just ended so quickly. The ending was typical yet satisfying, but the fact it only lasted for about 20 seconds really hacked me off.

Medal of Honour Airborne.
I didn't even think it was the ending, it just kinda stopped.

Defiantly the ending of dead space, it left so many questions un-answered. (Im not going to say more because then I may spoil it for people who havent played it all the way through yet)

MassEffect, Fallout3, Fable2, GearsOfWar2, Halo2, GodOfWar2, the list goes On...
(Save MassEffect: None Of These GAmes Know What a Good Last Boss Is Goddammit)
Mass Effect? Are you serious!? Personally, I thought the ending to Mass Effect was great. Actually managed to perfectly balance offering a suitably dramatic and complete ending and leaving the path open for a sequel.
Although the story was a bit to much (as Yahtzee the almighty said), but overall I liked the story and the ending too.
Well, although I can agree the game was somewhat good, the ending sucked because, even after you kill Saren and the A.I Ship goes boom, your character just pick one of the two numb-skulls there only to do the annoying "Tune-In-Next-Time-Because-What-You-Just-Beat-Was-Piss-Poor-Since-There-Are-Many-More-Where-That-Last-Boss-Came-From Speech"

Don't bother because the ending is so asstastic you'll want to eat the disc and then there'll be nothing TO sell.

Nah. It wouldn't be a big surprise if I told you that it was the weakest PC-game ending I've ever seen. And of course, you win.

And the last cutscene SUCKS!

Fallout 3. Basically just went "Grats u win, oh btw we spent all our time developing vats and train stations so we wont bother with a cutscene, but enjoy the slide show!"
This.

Assassin's Creed. Finish the final boss, get a cutscene with about as much closure as a fucking Star Wars trailer and end credits.
Leaving something open to a sequel is one thing, leaving it more open than HMV's doors during the January sales is just bloody infuriating.
This.

Assassin's Creed followed closely by Prince of Persia 2008. At least with Assassin's Creed, I know it's going to be a trilogy so it deadened the horrible WTF? effect at the end. Prince of Persia, however, made me want to drive to Montreal and choke the shit out of Ubisoft. Thankfully, for a mere 800 Microsoft points, I can buy the epilogue to fix the clusterfuck at the end of the game.... after I'm finishing playing it the second time through. I'm a gutton for punishment, I guess.
Just a heads-up...the epilogue ending is WORSE than the original. Another cliffhanger, and a far less poignant one at that. Disappointment. Ah well, at least I kinda liked the original one.

Nothing will ever come close to the rage I felt at the ending of Neverwinter Nights 2...or so I thought, until Fallout 3 came along. There is no punishment hard enough for the people responsible for either one. Gaming should be rewarding - or else where's the incentive for us to buy your products?
Another potential Fallout 3 buyer bought my traded-in copy instead of a retail one, and that story has repeated itself manifold all over the world. I wonder how many copies Bethesda missed out on revenue from because of that ending?

Eye of the Beholder. It is an old game, but a page of text does not constitute an ending, and I still vividly recall how disappointed I was.

A reviewer said the same when it came out, and I when I finished it I couldn't understand what he meant - since I played it on my Amiga, I was treated to one of the nicest endings of the time.
The PC version plain sucked though, as I found out years later. Recommendation? Play the Amiga version.:)
